Hey, everybody welcome back to the Aligned & Unstoppable Podcast,  I’m your host, Emily Aarons. And today we are talking about a very hot topic, which is about negative energy and how to clear negative energy that’s around you.

So first of all, I’m going to talk about like what is negative energy and then I’m going to go into all the ways for you to clear yourself personally, and then I’m even going to give you some awesome bonuses at the end for how to clear your home.

So one of the really great benefits of working with me, I’ve been doing energy healing for the last 23 years. I know a lot about energy and I am highly sensitive. So chances are, if you’re listening to this podcast episode, you are somebody who considers yourself an empath, a highly sensitive person.

Most likely you are a coach, a healer or a leader, or you have just like a budding spiritual practice that is going on right now and you want to really enhance your own spiritual practices and get rid of like the negative energy vampires in your life. So this is a great episode for you.

So warmest welcome. If you are just listening, please know you can actually tune in to the visual component, which is on YouTube, go to emilyaarons.com/youtube. Check out my YouTube Channel. Make sure you subscribe and you can follow along to this week’s podcast on video as well.

So today I’m going to share seven, maybe probably eight. Who knows? Maybe 15. I’m just going to go wild. I’m going to go to share as many tips as I possibly can to help you to clear negative energy out of your life. Okay?

So first and foremost, you know what is negative energy? Let’s just define that. So I look at negative energy as, you know, feeling tired. If you’re feeling anxious, stressed, you feel like heaviness. Some people describe it feeling heavy or you might even get like an upset stomach or just like some sort of physical, visceral response to negative energy.

And also for those of you who are like, is energy even a thing? It absolutely is. Scientists have proven that within 2 seconds of walking into a room, you can pick up on the energy in it. So if it’s good, then you’re going to be like, all right, cool, good vibes all day. If it’s not so good, you’re going to walk in and be like, something is weird about this place and, you know, I’ll speak for myself.

I have moved 19 times in my life, and I know looking at apartments and houses, sometimes, like on paper it looks great. But you walk in, you’re like, Oh boy, something just feels off and you don’t want to live in a place like that, let alone, you know, invite people over. So the lasting effects of negative energy can be related to stress and anxiety levels.

So if you’re in a negative environment for a very long time, if you’re living, let’s say you’re living at home, you know, maybe it’s family members or partner, sometimes those people have that energy that is just like so tiring and draining to be around that could actually add to your levels of stress, anxiety, depression, lowering your immune system.

You might have poor sleep, brain fog, lethargy, or even like a lack of motivation to name just a few. That negative energy to be around long term is very detrimental to your health and well-being. So that being said, if you are currently living with somebody, I wouldn’t recommend just running out the door and never coming home. I would recommend having conversations and doing something about it for yourself that also is going to impact and benefit them. Sometimes negative energy can be cleaned up with simple, literal cleaning and decluttering.

So if you are looking around you right now are imagining your home and it’s very cluttered and there’s knick knacks everywhere and there’s dust and debris and old everything, this could be an opportunity for you to completely clean house that will quite literally clean up a lot of the negative energy in your house. So but in your business, because I know obviously we’re here on this podcast talking about business all the time, so would be doing you a disservice if I weren’t talking about that too.

So negative energy in your business, you could be feeling tired in your business, frustrated, disappointed, feeling like nothing is working or constantly worrying about money or feeling like, you know, you’re overly attached to conversions and sales and like, Oh God, this person said, they want to work with me.

And now that they don’t, you’re so, like, embedded with this, like, I have to do this thing and I can’t. You’re so attached. So it’s not a good look, is what I want to say.

In business, in life, it’s not a good luck to have negative energy around. And like I said, people can pick up on it really quickly. And so even if you are on the internet doing business, doesn’t matter if you look great, if you sound great, if your energy is off, people can smell that miles away. All right?

So that’s why sometimes and even right now, today, as I record this podcast episode, I didn’t do my hair and makeup. I don’t really care right now, it’s the middle of the summer and I don’t feel like doing it. I just feel like sharing from my heart and sharing what’s important right now. And I want you to give yourself permission to do that as well. A lot of newer entrepreneurs hold themselves back from sharing and showing up because they’re worried how they’re going to look and sound. But you know what? Your energy is on point. That stuff does not matter. Okay?

So let’s start with the first thing first, okay? How do you want to feel during the day? So I don’t know. I want to feel good, right? Most people do. And I always talk about alignment, I’m a business alignment coach. So what I mean by alignment is you feel light, you feel free, you feel joyous, you feel happy and playful and connected and intuitive. You feel like you’re in the flow of life. Like things just keep working. Doors are opening. You feel awesome, okay? So that’s what I mean by aligned.

And so for you, maybe you want to feel like that, but maybe also some other things. So the first step I want to go over with you is simply put, you’ve got to set an intention to begin your day.

So step one, set your intention. So it’s kind of that moment where you start to wake up in the morning, maybe your eyes are still closed. You’re drifting out of the dream state and into this 3D reality. I want you to do kind of a check-in. So how do I feel right now? All right. Maybe not so good. Maybe I’m tired, maybe I’m sore. Maybe I’m a little crabby. Maybe I’m worried about that thing from the other day. All right, well, how do I want to feel? Simple as that.

If you can say, okay, so I want to feel. I want to feel awesome and abundant and magnetic and joyful and super in the flow state. Okay, so I would start like that. And I kind of I’m more of a visual person, so I kind of imagine, like I’m setting this bubble around the entire day to say, Here’s the bubble. My day is inside of it. This is the kind of day I am going to have today. Thank you very much. So that is the first step.

The second step. For those of you who are in my membership Mastery & Ascension, you probably already do this step. But if you don’t, I would say this is a great next step, which is to do my reboot meditation, my Reboot Meditation. It’s only found in Mastery & Ascension. It literally clears your entire energy field within a few minutes, you just press play. You can go about your day, you know, getting yourself ready, making breakfast, your coffee, whatever you’re doing, even driving yourself to work. When you press play on reboot, it’s going to clear systematically your entire energy field without any effort by you. So that’s the second step.

I would definitely encourage you to do it. If you are not a member of Mastery & Ascension, you can head over and join our waitlist. We are actually going to be putting together a free –  well, I shouldn’t say not a free trial. We’re going to be doing a, I think, $11 trial. So if you’re not a member, but you’re thinking about trying it out, it’s only going to be $11 and you can try it for a week to see if it’s right for you. So that’s an option, we’ll put that link in our podcast show notes. You’ll go over to emilyaarons.com/membership to learn more about Mastery & Ascension.

So doing Reboot is a great next step. Like you start your day, you have your intention and then you hit reboot. Boom, you’re clear.

The next thing you’re going to want to do is clear your space. You can use your intention to clear your space, right? You had your intention to set your energy container, but you could also use your intention to clear your actual space or yourself. So I also like to use Palo Santo and Sage throughout the day. I definitely use it before my workday every single day, like the sage light, the Paulo Santo clear my space energetically, clear myself, clear my cards, clear my computer, clear my phone, clear my notebook, anything, my water, anything I’m interacting with throughout the day. That is the next step. Number three is to clear with Sage and Palo Santo.

Number four is to go outside and connect with the Earth or explore nature. So, you know, a lot of you’re like, I’m too busy. I don’t have time to go outside in nature. But I swear one of the best things that you can do for yourself and for your energy, and especially when you’re living with somebody who’s a little bit on the heavy negative energy side, is to get the heck out of there, Right? Go outside. Being with trees, I don’t think anybody ever went for a walk in the woods or down a beautiful beach. I was like, You know what? I feel so heavy now. It was so negative, right? So going out in nature is going to like, shift your energy in a snap.

Number five, I know this is kind of a loaded one, but is to clear your gut. So eating whole foods, eating real foods is a big deal. And I’m not talking about it’s time to slim down and get skinny. It’s not the point. The point is the things that we are actually eating and ingesting and digesting. And in our system, it has an impact on our energy field. So if you’re eating processed fried junk food every day, that is literally how your energy is going to be. You can’t expect to eat processed food, frozen food, or fried food and your energy to be like all magnetic. It’s just not going to happen that way. You think of life force, energy, vitality, you think of color, right? You think of fresh food.

So if your energy has been feeling a little bit low or you’ve been feeling heavy, you’re feeling like, oh, so much stress and anxiety am going through a really heavy period of my life even, and especially during a launch period. If you really care about how your energy is, you’re going to want to put some care into your food choices. So that would be number five.

I’m not going to give you a diet. I’m not here to talk about like what you should and shouldn’t eat. All I would say is, simply put is eat real food so the closer it is to its natural source. So, you know, let’s say like bananas and apples, right. They haven’t changed sources. You haven’t changed them into anything, when they become banana bread an apple sauce and apple butter they’ve changed hands a little bit. Once you start to take those original things and turn them into things like potato chips, frozen pizza, like things like that, when they become really highly processed and they have a very long ingredients list, I would stay away from those as much as possible. Even if you try to just for a week, see how it feels.

You know, looking at everything that you’re eating, like, okay, well, I’m starting the day with cereal that’s processed. I’m having a big sandwich during the middle of the day that’s processed meat and processed bread and, you know, processed condiments. And then at dinner time, I’m having frozen meals that are highly processed and they’re frozen. They’re not even close to being fresh. So if you swap those things out for, let’s say, things that are fresh and healthy, I promise you your energy will immediately reflect that.

Okay, next step number six is you can program a crystal to help your energy. So, you know, I have got crystals everywhere. I would not recommend a big chunky one. I would get something that is like smooth and soft. I have this one here. This is oh, gosh. Oh, my God I’m blanking on the name right now. And those are that all of them blinking.

Anyway, it’s a smooth, polished crystal. You can put something it’s almost the size of my palm. It’s a little bit smaller. I can put this in my pockets. But then they’re even like smaller ones that maybe are more like the size of a grape or something. You could put those and tuck them into your bra, put them in your pocket. Things like that are really helpful to program the crystal with your intention of the day. I want to feel abundant, I want to feel light and I want to feel happy.

And you can program that crystal to hold that energy for you. I always wear crystals on me, whether it’s my bracelets, my earrings in my bra. I always wear crystals on me, especially when I’m speaking.

So if I’m hosting an event or I’m speaking at somebody else’s event, I will program my crystal because I know how my energy is. When I’m highly sensitive, I’m around a lot of people all the time, it’s too much. It’s very draining and I can also get overstimulated.

So the crystal helps me to keep myself grounded, aligned and balanced throughout the day and holding my auric field at a nice place so that I don’t feel so wonky and depleted at the end of the day. So I would definitely program a crystal.

Number seven is move your body. So you know what? We are a stagnant kind of community, right? We don’t get up and move our bodies as much as we would like to. Sometimes we make excuses for, Oh, I’m too busy or I don’t want to get up early and I don’t like whatever. Move your body can be very simple.

I like to move my body at the start of my day because when I get outside and move my body, both of those things are on this list, by the way. Everything for me changes so I can wake up in a sour mood, but just sometimes moving my body. It’s like it releases the things that are stuck and stagnant energetically in my field and it lets me release them. So moving your body could be 5 minutes of stretching. It could be a high-intensity interval training workout for 20 minutes. It could be going for a walk for an hour. I mean, it’s up to you and what feels good in your life. I would not skip the step.

You’ve definitely if you’re like, think about the type of personality, right. Think of paint the picture. Somebody who is eating processed foods every day. Really sedentary lifestyle doesn’t go out very much, doesn’t really do very much other than kind of eat and drink and go to the bathroom. And they’re staying in their house and their house is full of stuff, right? Versus somebody who is moving their body, getting outside in nature, eating fresh foods, making sure that their house isn’t cluttered and their space is nice and clear, right. You can sort of feel the difference in energy and you can maybe even paint a picture in your mind’s eye, right?

So the last tip I have, it’s kind of like a bonus tip number eight is at the end of the day to clear your energy and revoke access to your energy field from anyone or anything that you have not given permission to access to your field.

So your energy is yours and yours alone, which means that if you are sharing your energy, you’re speaking in a group, you’re on the Internet, you’re sharing meditations, you’re, you know, putting yourself out there, or you have friends or family members who have, like, connected with your energy field at some point.

If they have all these people and things are kind of in your field, at the end of the day, it’s going to be kind of hard to sleep and it could interrupt your sleep patterning, so you’re not going to get into deep sleep. Or if you’re going to get into deep sleep, you’re going to have strange dreams or perhaps maybe even astral traveling. I don’t know what you’re doing in your sleep, but possibly if other people’s energy is in your field, it’s going to be challenging for you. Let’s just say that. So at the end of the day, release and revoke any energies that are not in your highest and best interest and best good.

Also, in Mastery & Ascension, we do have a bonus. So in the bonus section, we have an entity and parasite clearing. So you can use it any time you want. I actually use it quite often because my energy is out there all the time and there are days where I clear myself and I just feel like still a little bit. I’m kind of like, well, funky. So I will do the entity clearing to give my energy field like just another once over. And it’s so, so helpful.

Again, you can learn more about Mastery & Ascension at emilyaarons.com/ membership and get yourself on the waitlist or hop in there. We would love to have you, this is really sacred community where I go live twice a month. I do live energy healings every single month. There’s over 200 energy clearings in there, so they help you. If you are a coach, a healer or a leader, you’re some sort of spiritual person who really wants to heighten your intuition, attract more abundance, attract your soul mate clients. That membership is gold and the community is outstanding. It’s also my personal favorite place to hang out on the internet. Just a high-vibe space where people who are doing the same work as all of us.

Now the bonus. So when it comes to your home, it’s a little bit different than with just you. And also I want to say this. You know, there are seasons of our life where it’s not like another person that’s bringing negative energy to us, it’s us. We’re going through maybe a dark night of the soul. Maybe we’re experiencing a lot of stress with our family, with our business, with whatever. And it’s like there is this heaviness and this darkness that’s like, Oh, we’re going through it. You can’t just, like, skip the bad parts. You can’t skip that like dark night of the soul, you just can’t. And when you’re in those places doing the things that I just mentioned, the eight things I just mentioned, it’s going to help you to keep your head above water a little bit longer.

Also, having the perspective of knowing this is just part of it. It’s not that you’re doing anything wrong or this shouldn’t be happening. This should be happening. Dark nights of the soul happen, and afterward, you have this huge growth and ascension.

And so I would recommend not fighting out of it and not feeling sorry for yourself during it, but also realizing this is part of what makes me me, processing this going through this period. Because I promise you it’s not going to last forever. It might last a long time, but it’s not going to last forever. The sun will shine again. And so if you’re in one of those places and you’re feeling like really heavy, really dark and really negative, you’re like, I don’t even know if the end is in sight. I know that feeling, too. These things are going to help you so much.

And I also do things for my mental health. Like I receive regular energy clearing from other people. I receive massage therapy, I receive hypnotherapy. And by the way, in Mastery & Ascension, my personal hypnotherapist does a quarterly Hypnotherapy Session for us.

I go to a natural healing doctor who can do muscle testing for me and get me the supplements that I require at that time to keep me in a better place and during times of real heavy stress and strain, or when I’m really feeling it, I take different supplements that help me to boost my mood and to help lower stress, stress and anxiety.

So please don’t dismiss those kinds of methods and just think, oh, well, I’m just going to set my attention and clear my day, everything should be fine, it’s not always. And there are ways that you can help yourself to overcome these, these times. And I know sometimes we get so consumed with how can I bring in money and moneymaking activities? And sometimes all your body and system, your energy system want is for you to rest and relax or go play or go to the park or go meet up with friends and not actually to be like doing more things that just keep you busy.

So I say all these with love. And I also say this because I’ve been there and I’ve gone through these things as well. And it’s not easy. It’s really not easy to show up when you have these things going on or it’s been happening chronically, whether it’s somebody in your life or your business has not been doing so well. So you’re really chronically stressed. It’s not easy to show up during those times. And these tips that I’m sharing with you, they are going to be helpful in clearing some of that energy off so that you can still show up even during those times. I know, I have. And you know what, listen, maybe it’s not my top best work I’ve ever done, but it’s better than maybe not showing up sometimes. Maybe… it depends.

So in your home, I have a few extra bonus tips that have really helped me because my house is always the place where people go. We host a lot of parties. We do things with a lot of people and there’s a reason why people like coming to my house, because it’s nice, it’s light, it’s clear, and It feels energetically awesome. I mean, we’ve had parties of people outside that like, wow, I’m just so at peace. I’m so relaxed here. And that’s because I program my house to do that.

So, you know, just like we talked about setting an intention for yourself, you can set an intention for your home, right? Having your home in a beautiful bubble, setting your intention of how you would like it to feel and what kind of energy is allowed in your home, right? Like, did you even think about that? Sometimes we just don’t even think about those things.

So the first thing I do, especially before having like a big party or event or just like people coming over, I always clear my house. So every day I’m lighting Sage or Palo Santo in my house. So it’s always here. My kids will help me sometimes as well. So set your intention. And number two is to light some sage or Paulo Santo really help bring an energy. Bring that intention into your home and setting that boundary what energy you might available for in this place. What energy is not available, why I do not want available.

And then number three is set of crystal. So I do tend to have a lot of crystals. I’m sure you probably do to clear your crystals. Like take them outside, get them under some moonlight or some sunlight, maybe do a salt bath, depending what kind of crystals they are. Make sure that your crystals are supercharged and you can program those crystals with your own intention as well. So, you know, get your crystals clear, set the intention to hold your own space.

And number four, which is something that a lot of people just totally go wild about, is I do this thing in my home called energetic waterfalls and nobody talks about it. I think I don’t even know why I started to do it. I think the first time I made an energetic waterfall was years ago, my husband, Andrew, he’s a plumber and he’s a farmer, and there were some days that he came back from these rotten jobs as a plumber, you know, doing disgusting things. You’re under a house in a crawlspace with rats and disgusting things. And he was coming home really grumpy. And I had myself and my young baby at the time and we were having a great day. And all of a sudden Andrew would come in and it was like a dark cloud all of a sudden in the room and all of a sudden rural, hostile now too. And I was like, you know what? Everything was fine before he walked in. So I had this idea to install energetic waterfalls over the thresholds of the doors. So it’s basically a simple intention that there’s this waterfall in the threshold of the door. By the way, if you do this, give me a shout-out. Okay, because it works. You’re welcome.

So the front door, the back door, wherever somebody is coming into your house set up like an imaginary waterfall, and the waterfall is going to rush over the person who walks through it cleaning, clearing them from anything it does not serve your home to the energy that you want at its highest level.

So let’s say, you know, it’s a grumpy person walking through your space or somebody who has negative energy or somebody is going through a lot of grief or somebody who’s like having a really hard time. Like you can just set that energetic waterfall to wash over them. Anything that doesn’t serve your home at its highest level and leave it at the door, maybe you can even put a bucket over there. So washes it often and leaves it in the bucket so energetically people can pick up their stuff from that bucket on the way out the door right? They just on the way in, you can’t bring it with you.

Okay, So think of it that way. So it’s going to wash over people, clearing them for anything that doesn’t serve your home and your environment at its highest level. And then when they leave, they’re welcome to take it back with them. Or they can just leave it. And it can be transmuted and cleared for them. So I like to do that.

And then always after events or parties at my house, I will do the same thing all over again, set my intention, clear the space, open up all the windows, get all the energy of everybody else out.

I even I know this sounds bizarre, but I have weekly cleaners that come to my house and I will clear my house after they’ve literally cleaned it. So they have they have physically clean the house. And now I’m energetically cleaning the house because, you know, sometimes there’s there’s a number of them who come in. They’re using these cleaning. They’re kind of in, and now they’re all over the place. It kind of is like a tornado, but like the best kind because my house is sparkling after. But I also don’t love how it feels in here energetically. So they physically clean the space and then I energetically clean after them.

So I really hope these tips were helpful for you. If you have negative energy in your life, in your home, in your business all over you, if you’re going through a really hard time, I would love for you to keep listening to this episode and definitely please share it with somebody who’s having a hard time or, you know, maybe they’re just like struggling in a relationship with somebody who is bringing them down. You know, these things can probably really help them more than you even know.

Emily: All right, listeners, welcome back to the Aligned and Unstoppable Podcast. I am joined by two wonderful guests, Clayten Stedmann and Jeffrey Stegman from Focused Life Force Energy, also known as FLFE, and I am ecstatic to bring them on to the podcast today. This is such an honor to have you both here. Thank you so much for being here and for the listeners.

You may have seen me talk about FLFE personally. I’ve been sharing more about it on my Instagram and I just sent some emails about it. But the reason why I have been using FLFE for now about a year and a half was I actually heard Jeff and Clayten on somebody else’s podcast and I just got so excited I could feel their energy through the podcast. So I’m sure as you listen to this, you won’t have a similar sensation because I know all of you are very highly sensitive, very empathic people. So I got really curious. Personally, I want to try this thing out. I’m constantly looking to bring more consciousness and lightheartedness and bring alignment into my life and of course my business. And I like to habit stock.

And, you know, one of the things that drew me to FLFE was like, okay, I can try it for free for 15 days, this is unbelievable. And so as you’re listening to this, you’ll see in the podcast show notes that there is a way that you can also try FLFE for free. We have it linked in the show notes. You can listen to this all the way through to really get a feel for if this is in resonance, if it’s like if it’s working for you because we’re going to talk all about it, how they developed it, how it all came to be. My personal relationship, basically, I started my trial. I loved it from the moment I started the trial, and the second that I activated my subscription, the lights in my house flickered. So, you know, no big deal, just everything happening at the same exact instant. And I was like, I just kind of smiled. I’m like, of course, of course, this is great.

And the reason why I love it, FLFE is a sort of a tool that I use when I’m having when I go on live, when I do live calls, live channeling, I will activate it right before I’m about to do that. So likely, if you’re listening to this podcast, you’ve probably experienced it without even knowing it. I also like to activate FLFE for a boost when I’m having a difficult conversation, whether it’s with one of my kids or my partner or maybe a team member. It really just helps to set the tone in the energy field. There’s a lot of different ways that you can use FLFE.

I’m not going to spend the whole time just bragging about how much I love it though. I want you guys to share really about the history, you know? How did you develop FLFE? What was the intention behind it and sort of where it’s grown into today. So I’m handed over to you. Welcome.

Jeff: Great to be here. Great to be with you.

Clayten: Yeah, great to be with you. And if you do want to brag for the next half hour about how you like FLFE, I’m very willing to listen.

Emily: I think I will 🙂

Jeff: Well, we are,  FLFE is activating a consciousness field. So just for those that don’t know about it or don’t know what it is, so it’s a subscription service that activates a consciousness field at a home business around a cell phone or around an object.

So we discovered this technology, Clayten and I. Clayten first. And what it’s really come, the intention for starting the business was to support the evolution of consciousness. It’s really to support us to rise in consciousness, and we’ve been 10 years now on the service.

Clayten: 24th is our 10th year anniversary this year.

Jeff: And I’ve had my businesses on the service as well. So consciousness field in the unconditional love zone. And these were brick-and-mortar type businesses, right? Manufacturing businesses. And having a consciousness feel at the unconditional love zone and a business is can be really interesting. But to talk about it more as we go on.

Emily: Oh, for sure.

Clayten: Yeah, I met the original. There was a group of people who tried to create a free energy device back in I guess it was right around the year 2000. And they spent seven years at it and they ran out of money and I guess will at that point. But they didn’t create a free energy device. But what they did do was they stumbled upon a way to focus life force energy within a piece of technology.

I think it was their pure hearts and their persistence that led the divine to or help the divine reveal something good to them in a way that they didn’t imagine. And the one gentleman who was retired at the time, he just kept working on it because he found it very interesting. And I got to meet him in 2007. And and so we spent and I spent a lot of time researching with him. Um, so, you know, Jeff and I knew each other and we were kind of gearheads.

So eventually I told him about this technology and we flew up to see the inventor and, you know, he took it to a certain place where he was getting very, is getting very old. And he just, you know, he was kind of running out of energy to do much more with it. So we took it and, you know, just kind of like, say, was a Model T at that time when we made it a Tesla or a…

Emily: Yeah.

Clayten: Or a Cadillac or whatever you know, the new Cadillacs are nice, by the way. So yeah, that’s, that’s of course an old version of the chronology. So I’ve been working with that since about 2007 and we started the business in 2013.

Emily: Wow. It’s really come a long way since that time.

Clayten: Yeah, we’re still doing upgrades. We have a couple coming out soon. Couple of other couple good upgrades. So yeah.

Jeff: Yeah. Originally when we started so we’re activating a consciousness field. So the original machine that the inventor had was stacks, stacks and stacks throughout this whole house. And it was originally high speed, alternating current and creating this very concentrated lifeforce energy like consciousness based. And that what goes into that is a unique identifier, and that’s how that field gets activated. Just very similar to human consciousness. If you’re doing Reiki or you’re just blessing someone or even just calling him on the phone and you’re thinking of them, you’re holding their image in your mind, maybe unconsciously, and you’re dialing their number.

They’re thinking of you. And then, you know, we’ve all experienced that and the phone rings and it’s you that you’ve activated a field around them when you think of them. And that instant quantum connection is very much the way FLFE works. So a unique identifier, like an address, coordinates cell phone number in a jurisdiction where a photograph then creates that unique identifier. If field is activated at a location and then we specify the, you know, the field and characteristics of it, the consciousness of it, and then we add into that field information for and then for the innate intelligence of the people there to use. For clearing the property of negative history.

So we have a clearing program that we developed, and we keep updating that as well as new things come to our attention. But… So when we originally started, it took a couple of days for the sort of for the consciousness level to go up at the location. And then once we cleaned it first, then the negative history, then just seconds goes right up and that unconditional love, vibration level of consciousness. So it’s not frequencies, again, it’s a consciousness feel. It just feels good, you know? It feels like grandmother’s house and Sunday. Everybody’s gathered around for some turkey or something. There’s just that supported sanctuary type thing.

Emily: Yeah.

And when you talk about how you clear space, I know there are some really interesting stories around, you know, finding locations globally that have had some significant occurrences happening there that when you bring in this level of consciousness, how it can dramatically change. And there’s also sort of a way that you measure how it can change. So would you mind sharing about that?

Clayten: Well, the one of the measurements we use as a primary one is the Hawkins Map of Consciousness. It’s a consciousness scale based upon kinesiology. And so when we first… well, when we were experimenting with that philosophy, we kind of taken the technology and upgraded it in multiple ways.

We realized that we could not only eventually we found a way to disconnect it from power, so it just draws energy from the ether and we just found ways to amplify it. So it actually doesn’t, it actually is a free energy device in a certain way, it’s just not a free energy device you can use to plug, you know, a hairdryer in or a blender or anything.

Yeah, we were using kinesiology to calibrate the level of consciousness of, say, a continent, and they would find the lowest place on the continent and well, we’d find the lowest place and then typically would try to find a place that we called a critical factor. So the critical factors where you can put the least amount of effort in and get the most amount of gain. So we would find that area on a continent, and this was just right around 2011, Emily, when the 2012 thing was coming out. Now, people weren’t sure about what was going to happen because of the prophetic nature of the Mayan Calendar. And we were working on raising the level of conscious the planet, just finding places on continents and putting the surface on and just lifting it up.

You know, we’d always tested those on the highest and best interest of all creation with kinesiology. We had a bunch of safety protocols and we would lift this place up and we’d go to the next continent, find the critical factor, put it on that area, lift that up. We just that’s what we did for service work. And, you know, some places are extremely low like there were some places that very small areas we typically would do a several-mile radius. So we had to create some quality qualifiers around the critical factor area. But there are some places on the planet where atrocities have happened that they’re you know, you might have a like a mile radius where it’s like 40 out of a thousand. So on the Hawkins Map, it’s from one to infinity. The human realm is 1 to 1000.

There’s a certain number of microbots of electricity associated with each level of consciousness. And the higher level of consciousness, the more energy you have in your body, the more energy to create your life that you want. So we we did find areas that were extremely low. Typically, you know, war zones, obviously places like concentration camps, there was, you know, maybe there’d be a like around that would be 50 to over a thousand 200 is integrity in the Hawkins Map 500 is loved by 45-50 is unconditional love. So we would lift those places up and it would the whole area would lift because it was kind of that low area was sucking the energy out of the places that surround it, you know?

Emily: Yeah.

Clayten: Yeah. So that’s part of the story,  I mean, well, I just pick it up from there.

Jeff: Well, the concentration camps are one thing that we did as a service project, and we do something like 90 plus % where it varies, but it’s probably around 90% of the energy of the entire system goes to service work, and then the rest is for the FLFE service.

So you know, in the way the uplift of this services was from the very beginning was since we started this service work. Well, let’s give everybody that’s a subscriber a chance to do service for themselves so everybody gets to put a pitch for a pay-it-forward subscription which is it at the level of love 500 anywhere in the world they want. So that’s part of people just giving back, you know, anonymously to the world and give people a chance to do that. So that’s always been part of what we do.

But yeah, Clayten, said the camp, the camps, you know, finding the locations, going to Google or finding where they are getting the coordinates. And then they would come into the system. And as we became a business and allowed people to do this themselves, raised their own properties, their own businesses, we found ways to automate it and bring it in. Originally we were printing pieces of paper and putting them into this field in the machine. And eventually, we discovered a way to connect a database to it. And then like now, people can get on the free trial and they can get on just really literally in a minute.

Emily: Yeah.

Jeff: And like you said, the boots are available in the customer portal. And we have a boost on right now for everybody that’s listening. And but you have complete control of this customer portal. You can turn it on, turn it off. You can we have a slider, you can go up and down in consciousness.

And it doesn’t lower the consciousness of a space, but it kind of creates a bottom. It’s like that trampoline, you know, bottom where you can hit the trampoline and go lower, but it just kind of helps bounce you back up. And creates that unconditional love that you can you know that those unloved parts of yourself can start to feel and start to come up for you.

Emily: Hmm. It is such a gentle way to start bringing healing into your field. I mean, you don’t have to go anywhere or talk about the things that are coming up, but being in a higher-level consciousness field is going to permeate through every level of your aura and your energy field. So it starts to move things. And you guys have had some outstanding customer journeys that, you know, people have had tremendous help with their sleep, with their even the plants that are in their home. Could you share some of those incredible stories?

Clayten: Well, we have a pretty evidence-based approach to this, and we have about 13 pieces of research on the website that talk about how we’ve measured the changes in terms of how some people have the best sleep they’ve ever had. And some people find they have so much energy, they have to turn it down. Right.

And I think it’s worth saying that if you’re a high-consciousness person, you’re you’re creating a higher consciousness field around you all the time. And one of the ways to increase the level of consciousness of your home is just to clean up really well, you know, decorate it in a way that it’s beautiful. And, you know, we did a little meditation before we started the, you know, the interview. We do a little bit of praying in your place.

I mean, on the Hawkins Map of Consciousness, one point up is 10x more powerful. So if you can go to a loving state and your prayers and meditations or just even throughout your day, when you do access a loving state that really helps buoy you up and carry you through, and then you can be your own.

You know, we’re our own generator of miracles, if you will. But in terms of FLFE, I’ll maybe share. We’ve had a few stories of people and we just finished an MF study. I’ll let you talk about it, but we’ve had people that couldn’t leave their homes. They were so exhausted by, for whatever reason, the electromagnetic influence. And since they went on the service, you know, there’s a like they can start to leave the house, they can, you know, go shopping. You know, there’s just things like that that really changes a person’s life.

There’s lots of subtle consciousness things, but there also are some dramatic, you know, kind of irrevocable of evidence that, you know, when it’s on, people can function. Now most of us aren’t in that place, thank goodness. But you know, those are extremes. And we didn’t make any health claims, but it happens consistently, so.

Emily: Right. Well, I know one of my friends I had just shared on Instagram today that I was excited to be interviewing you both. And she is also a practitioner. She’s an energy-based practitioner. She works a lot in Akashic field and she’s definitely one of my closest friends. We do this thing where we do things in parallel a lot and it’s kind of a joke to us like, well, released the same exact program, a different at the same exact time, but different names and my spin and her spin. And I’m like, of course. Oh, and you’re releasing on the same week. Okay, Of course it is. It we just get such a kick out of it.

And when I posted today, she said, Oh, I’ve been loving FLFE because when my daughter was going through a really bad depression, you know, I couldn’t work on her field all the time, nor should I. And so having FLFE was so helpful for her, her mental health, to be able to get over that hump of that dark depression, that it was a game changer for her and her daughter and her house.

Jeff: Yeah, we’ve been hearing depression stories a lot and it’s something that I’d love to get on the research docket to really quantify. But yeah, we had a story where a young woman. Her brother had a terrible accident on a motorcycle accident, but he was paralyzed and just totally depressed. And he’d been in bed for like three months and just, you know, basically ready to die. She put on the service. She didn’t tell him and she went to work. She came back, he was outside. So he got into a wheelchair and wheeled himself outside the first time, you know, since the accident.

Emily: Wow.

Jeff: So she attributed it to that influence. And we see that especially with children where there’s something about. Yeah, like you were saying, like immersing your whole being in this unconditional love field just helps those parts to heal. And so many children these days, whether it’s from the influence of social media or just tough time at school, they just hate parts of themselves or they have a real trouble with how they look or whatever it is. And I think, you know, unconditional love just seems to be the healer. And we all need real praise for ourselves.

Emily: Yeah. And even as you said, it’s kind of interesting. You know, it’s popping up to my mind is around some of the thoughts that come into our field. And I remember you both had done a podcast on your own podcast, The Fields of Consciousness Podcast, around where the thoughts come from. And that was such a fascinating episode. And, you know, tracing back of where did this start come from? Is that mine? Even as adults, I mean, let alone children, are sweet little susceptible sponges? You know, they’re not thinking of that. They’re just here to live their best life.

And as adults, if we can actually realize and all of our thoughts are ours are, they’re not all coming from these pure states of bliss and love and well-intended things. Sometimes just that alone is really empowering to be able to separate yourself from thoughts that are kind of in your head. Because we kind of assume, I’m thinking it’s got to be mine and I love that episode you’re all dead.

Jeff: Yeah, It’s just not true. They’re not our thoughts, you know, for the most part. And Clayten, I’d love for you to talk about the level of consciousness and the different thoughts that we attract. Because that to me, that’s really fascinating because when we’re deep and depressed, you know, there’s more thoughts coming in that aren’t ours.

Emily: Oh, yeah.

Clayten: Yeah, this whole topic is fascinating. We haven’t found a way to research it yet in a way that we’re comfortable with, but one of the things we have done is we’ve made because we love pie charts and graphs and stuff, so we’ve made these little pie charts of people at different levels of consciousness and where their thoughts come from.

And so the higher your level of consciousness, the more thoughts that I would say come from. Now you have to really get into defining things, right? So they come from either, let’s say, your higher self that could come from the angelic realm, that could come from divinity on the negative side, they could come from the chatter of humanity will call it. That could come from a person who is in a negative state. It could come from many multiple negative sources.

And it doesn’t have to be a big scientific study, even though we like to do research. If, you know, you just have to look at the thought, even if you’re not sure it’s yours, if it’s a loving thought and it helps you be present and kind. And I think we can generally embrace that thought. And if it’s a thought that separates us from other people, that leads us to think we’re better than somebody or less than somebody. I mean, someone can have more skill, but there’s an inherent value in being a human that is unassailable. So we have to recognize merit and then recognize the value of just being human. That’s different than entitlement.

So it’s good to do a little audit on our thoughts. You know, if that’s a loving thought and kind, then we can you know, kind of embrace it. And if we’re conscious enough to know that it’s negative. Then you know, there’s different techniques you can use for thought control. But we can cancel that thought.

I just tell a little story. So I was walking down the street in my hometown here, and I went by a gentleman who was on the street, and he was begging. And I had a really negative thought about him. In fact, you know, those dark clouds you have in cartoons?

Emily: Oh, yeah.

Clayten: So I didn’t see my thought he would have been mortified, right? And it’s like I walked past him and I was like, Oh, man, what’s going on? You know, it just kind of overwhelmed me. And when I got back past him, I walked around the corner and went back and checked like, okay, where’s that thought coming from? And it wasn’t necessarily his thought, but it was the thought that was in his auric field because he was so down and so low.

It’s like he was attracting negativity to him. Now, where that negativity comes from, we can debate, but that wasn’t my thought. I’m not saying, Oh, my thoughts are holy, but he had a field of negativity around him that attracted hateful dislike, you know, just really negative thoughts towards him in his situation. That was my conclusion anyway. So that’s just an example of, you know, paying attention to your thoughts as you walk through life. You’ve got to beat yourself up to have negative thoughts. Just cancel it. Maybe bless the person and, you know, forgive yourself, I suppose.

Emily: Yeah, well, I think as especially as entrepreneurs, we are sometimes in those negative thought cloud bubbles regularly, and particularly with folks who are online. You know, we’re in these thought bubbles of other people’s constantly and there’s a barrage of negative influences or comparison and not being good enough.

And I know especially for coaches and healers who are in my realm, you know, it’s really easy to get caught up in some of those things and also feeling like you’re not good enough. And these sort of thoughts excuse me as I clear my throat chakra, these thoughts around being visible and speaking your truth and sharing your gifts in the world, you know, these have been things that have been holding practitioners back for eons. You know, if they’ve been persecuted, they’ve been shunned, they’ve been killed, they’ve been drowned, they’ve been ostracized.

You know, there’s all of this karmic sort of death that kind of comes along with being a practitioner and still in this, you know, it’s 2023 right now and still it’s like, well, I just can’t go on social media. I can’t do a live I can’t put myself on a website like that’s like the, you know, basic level where they struggle, but it’s a much deeper rooted issue. And these thoughts have come around for so long it’s been in their field for lifetimes.

Jeff: Yeah, yeah. And it’s time in this lifetime to dispel those like yeah you know.

Emily: Yeah.

Jeff: So and I think being in a high consciousness field can, can help and that’s the clearing that’s happening all the time because those thoughts go into the drywall and the concrete flooring and you know, they become embedded in the dust and everything. So the clearing cuts and clearing does help as well. But yeah, being in the healing profession and the intuitive feeling that in a profession is it’s always been that fringe from, you know, like you said, multiple lifetimes. But it’s time for us to step into the spotlight. And that’s what we, you know, so having the FLFE the environment part of it is presented a pristine environment for us to evolve into thin the veil.

So in these higher consciousness fields, that connection across into our intuition and those, those sources for us becomes easier. It can become easier. And so that, you know, like, let’s do that for as many people as possible. We all have these ability to connect positive sources of wisdom and fields for healing.

Emily: And it is definitely such a privilege to be able to do this work and to share this work and for people to be able to receive this work and especially through your pay-it-forward program. I know being able to share it with schools and with kids is so powerful. I mean, people who again, I mean, you’re just you’re listening to the podcast, but there’s right now there’s energy put into this field right now.

And if there’s energy being put into the field for our children and younger generations as they’re growing up into that field, I mean, imagine how their education would change, how their minds could open, how their hearts could open. Maybe it would help to diminish or lessen bullying and, you know, non-acceptance of one another and be able to have more love and compassion for each other. I mean, I didn’t have that kind of environment where I grew up. I know about you both, but it wasn’t exactly about.

Jeff: Well, we had a customer come on a webinar, and he was in Europe somewhere in Sweden. And he’s a teacher or he’s in a school and he’s a counselor, in the school environment. And he had noticed the young boy, one of his people, he’s counseling who was really withdrawn online, and he would just put his head down. You know, he was not engaged with the kids. He wasn’t in sports. And something was really going on for him. And our customer decided to put the boy’s phone on FLFE. And we have a lower-cost children’s program. And he just has a gift.

And the turnaround was just amazing. And it’s just such a wonderful story. And the child really perked up over, you know, over a few weeks and became much more social, joined a sports team, was started being successful in soccer and doing all sorts of things. So he just brightened up. And it’s just very traumatic for this counselor to see that, you know, and it was a very emotional moment for his own wife to hear the story.

Emily: Wow. That’s incredible. It’s beautiful to be able to see that kind of transformation. And I think that’s also what’s so interesting and what I love that you guys are always measuring and I love Clayten, how you say I love, we love pie charts and stats. I do, too. And as much as you know, this work is so energetic and so ethereal, you know, we can geek out about the actual evidence base to this work.

And that’s something that I was listening to a book about shock. The difference between shock and trauma and the ability to use subtle energy to help people heal and how, you know, energy work is the wave of the future. And this is the future of medicine. And I love, I love that I got so excited when I they opened the book with that. I’m like, yes, I love science and I love data and I love the evidence.

And so part of what you are doing is collecting data constantly of scene, you know, checking, is this actually working? Is there a placebo? Is it you know, if somebody is already working on their consciousness, is it helping them further if they’re not? How is that? So, could you share a little bit about some of the studies that you’ve been working on? I mean, you know, there’s a lot of them, but maybe some of the work that you’ve been doing for the folks who are really left-brained, who are listening to the podcast and or like me, geek out about evidence-based information.

Jeff: Yeah. So we’ve been doing evidence research from almost from the beginning, and it always starts with the customers, you know, what experience they’re having. So plants were one of those where people are saying, wow, my plants are doing really well, and they send these pictures of their yard and all the yards down the street, there’s was the only one that was green and the tree was bigger, you know, and they were all clean at the same time. So we started doing plant research.

And at first, yes, we had two plant growth setups, hydroponic. One was on FLFE, one wasn’t, and spinach seeds and included germination. And we had a big increase in germination and in, you know, like 30% increase in leaf science. Well, in that first experiment. So then we did a blinded experiment where there was we hired someone to do the experiment. They didn’t know which was which, and this was wheatgrass. And then we did the same thing with wheatgrass and a 5G, a 5G gamer router with the EMF mitigation. Then we went on to, so we so right about then we had recruited more people onto the research team. And this was not through our actions, but people that came to us.

One of our customers, Lewis, who had a really profound experience on the service, really catapulted him into the next level. He’s at the University of Arizona, and he knew Dr. Gary Schwartz, who’s been sort of a science pioneer between science and spirituality and not afraid to follow the data wherever it goes, even if it’s a really, you know, strange, bizarre, done energy medicine, mediums, you know, and he’s developing a cell phone that talks across the veil. So he came into our research department and he’s now our senior scientist. And so the step next to plan research was with him shepherding us as well, giving us traditional ways to blind.

So the next one was double-blinded where the person conducting the experiment, we had completely identical grill environments, including bags, so that the environment was the moisture and the temperatured environment was the same. He didn’t know which was which. And the data was collected and then was analyzed by somebody that didn’t know which is which. So where somebody knows the result and they’re analyzing the data, they could, you know, even unconsciously bias things. So so the results in these planned experiments were, again, a huge increase in, my ability of seeds germination and a huge increase in the root length in the 100% larger, range.

Emily: Wow.

And then we moved to a plant, to a farm experiment where, again, with a very large farm, they were farming 10,000 acres at the time. And there was an FLFE section that we used coordinates to map out, and then they would control sections. And Farmer didn’t know he had a john deere tractor and he was, you know, harvesting and all that was going up to a map, johndeere.com has this big map of his field and the yield in each acre. And then Gary will analyze the data and it was like 22% increase in yield.

Emily: Wow.

Jeff: … In the FLFE sections. So this year you know no placebo, no you know no effect of the experiment or something that results.

Emily: Wow. And so we can imagine what it might be doing to our bodies and our systems, if that’s what’s happening on a basic level to seeds and plants, they’re thriving. You could probably presume that it’s affecting you, in the same way, to bring more health and vitality to you as a human being.

Jeff: Well, and it shows up in anecdotal type stories from customers about more energy, more like Clayten said, more energy to create the life that you want to create.

Clayten: The body’s innate intelligence is extraordinary. It just needs to be in an environment where there is… If you’re on the spiritual path, people say, well, you know, I’m already I’ve been doing, I’m a yoga teacher for 30 years. Do I really need something like this? Well, if you don’t have to give up your own energy to raise your environment, you can just have that energy to do something else with whatever you choose and the body’s innate intelligence is extraordinary. I mean, it knows what to do with extra energy. It knows what to do with extra resources, and it’ll just go ahead and do what it needs to do to make us healthier and more vital, because that’s what the body’s kind of designed to do.

So yeah, we have ideas about how to, you know, we’re looking at. I’d like to see us, do a telomere study of telomeres. One of the ones that are known to identify using our anti-aging, there’s lots of things. Like there’s different types of bloodwork you can do.

Emily: Sort of like an indicator of like trauma when your telomeres are more frayed, like the end of the gun.

Clayten: Or shorter. Yeah, like the end of a like a yeah, like the end of a wire that’s been frayed. Yeah. So there’s lots of things in the future that we’ll do. It’s just, you know, step by step.

Jeff: Well, the EMF mitigation has been really profound as well. So that’s how we knew along the way that because we were getting calls from customers and it always comes back to the customer experience, you know, we love the FLFE community. They tell us what they’re experiencing, what’s happening, and people are saying, well, it just doesn’t feel as good as it did. And we read went back and saw that, wow, that property yesterday dropped, you know, or in the short period of time dropped its level of consciousness. So every property that we found that was lower than the promise, we got the subscription for free until we fixed it.

And what we discovered is that there is a new cell tower, there is a new smart meter. There was a router that they said, Oh, let’s just put it under the bed, you know. And the people that didn’t even know they were, you know, get this energy right under the bed. So, what we discovered is there’s consciousness lowering EMFs and they cause the life force to go down in a property. It causes it to be less healthy, less supportive of life, but plants to where we do worse and we discover ways to mitigate that through the energetic essence of Shungite and raising the level of consciousness of the emitters, the routers we found causes it to become a positive influence from negative one.

And so we did an EMF study with a researcher from the University of Pennsylvania who is an expert in that area. And Gary Schwartz was involved and what we did was a series of interviews with them where they talked about the frequency and intensity of their after-symptoms. Like sleeplessness and anxiety, muscle pain, muscle and joint pain, and on and on brain fog. And when they went on the FLFE service then we retested where were they doing. And in all cases their symptoms went down. And it’s lit’s like a pretty steep drop in both intensity and frequency.

Emily: Wow.

Jeff: So we did a preliminary study with 10, 10 people and we just finished a 40-person study, same, same sequence. And now we have a longitudinal study where people are with us for quite a period of time. And we’re testing them when they post. And so, yeah, we’re seeing a replication of the original results with the 40 person and additional new things that came in.

Emily: Wow. That’s fantastic. And it’s I’m glad that you’re saying this, too, because when I was, of course, walking listening to this audiobook, when I was getting this excitement and this download of like, oh, I need to get some science backing, some data that I have got. And I and it kind of hit me like, okay, I need to start tracking and getting some evidence for the work that I do.

So in my energy healings that I do, whether it’s for a free workshop or a challenge or basically anything, I invite people to give themselves rating on a scale from 1 to 10, how are you feeling when it comes to whatever the thing is that we’re working on. And just be honest, you know, you’re not getting judged on it, you’re not getting graded. Just put a number in 1 to 10, one being absolutely terrible, 10 being amazing, wonderful. And they’ll all put their numbers into the chat. And I do my work afterwards. I say, okay, please let me know how you’re feeling.

And if you could mark down from this number originally to now where you’re at so we can kind of see and there the numbers were outstanding, you know, from a 2 to an 8, you know, these dramatic swings. And I did a challenge in May called Intuition Week, where I do a series of energy healings during that time. And I decided to go back and write those numbers into a spreadsheet so I could do a little geeky part myself.

Jeff: Yeah.

Emily: And, and so, you know, these numbers are staggering and there’s, you know, hundreds of people who are doing this work. And we’re seeing on average, not per person, but on average this. I want to say I got, I should put the actual number. I think it was like 133% increase of improvement. And so over 100% of people who are doing this work. And so for me, it’s like, oh, it’s but when you can instantly, within a few minutes change your field so dramatically, that is so powerful.

And so, you know, some people they’ll do like a week with me and I’m like, that’s it. And it’s like taking a drink out of a firehose. Then you’re back to your life. And like, I felt really good for a week and now it’s kind of…

And so part of it is I want people to see like that left brain analytics of, oh no, the data is right here in front of me. I type that number. I felt bad and then I type that I’m, I feel good. And then their brain goes, Oh, so when I do this work, I feel good, I feel better.

And to start registering that to get that positive reinforcement in their system and maybe create some new habits, I think that’s definitely the way that I am going towards my membership because we’re going to be bringing in probably a big focus group of about 100 people who are interested in doing this study with us over the course of a year. So we’re wanting to see the data because while people tell me after about three months is when I really got into the groove and like everything started to open up my intuition was like soaring. And I’m making all this money. I’m attracting the best client. So that’s great. And I also want to see the data that speaks to that, that says, you know, within two months, within three months, after seven months, like I want to see over that period of time, you know, what is actually happening.

Not just I’m more intuitive, I’m making more money, I feel better. And can we keep proving it? If you’re having a study group of 100 people, you know, there’s going to be some really cool correlations that we’re not even expecting to see. So I will definitely have to chat with you all some more about that stuff as well.

Jeff: Like, yeah, I’d like to invite you into a research meeting to, to get some coaching from Gary and Paula about your research design, if you like.

Emily: Yeah, of course. Oh, my gosh, of course. Yes, please. Thank you!

Jeff: Because you know what we’re developing, we’re finding is this kind of gold standard for research in these esoteric areas. And gets, that’s Gary’s standard here with you know, he’s measuring mediums you know the is evidence around mediums accuracy is the scale that he uses. And so, you know, I think at this time in history where we are. You know, people are more open to these nonlinear approaches and the more the evidence helps their mind to just quiet down and just do it, right?

Emily: Right.

Jeff: And so we need evidence at this time, but we need to do it extraordinarily well.

Emily: Right.

Jeff: Right. So that someone can say, oh, well, you know, there’s this problem with the way you did it, you know. So that’s where we’re becoming our role as we see going forward to help be that gold standard or to help other practitioners to do scientific studies that that they can then, you know, present.

Emily: Oh, yeah. Amen. And that’s part of it is like as I started to feel into how I really can measure this for my members and my meditations. And as you guys know, I’m developing a certification. So The Integrated Energy Alignment Practitioners, they are required to do practice sessions every single month. And so I would love to be able to get data for their clients, their practice people, even for them going through the training. You know, from when you started your level of consciousness, your level of confidence, your level of integrity and you know how you feel.

And then throughout it, I mean, there’s a lot of changes, but their clients, their practice clients can also be part of the study of saying this modality is doing something really significant. So it does help when people are signing up to become a practitioner to know this, there is evidence that says this is valuable, not just some person on the Internet who is saying it’s valuable. And I promise you you’re going to get great results. But actually here’s the data.

So I love these parallels and I love where I feel like, you know, when we talk about where thoughts come from, I feel like I’m riding this wave of, Oh, I love this. And talk about starting setting the gold standard. I mean, you know, you guys are setting the gold standard for higher levels of consciousness and being able to bring that into people. I mean, again, I mean, whether you’re receiving a meditation or you’re doing some kind of practice or you’re taking qigong or what it’s like all these wonderful things you can add in to make your life better.

FLFE is like literally no effort. You sign up and then boom, it’s just there. You’re in this field. And I think that’s what’s so powerful about it. You know, people are always looking for like this, like magic pill to fix all of the things and maybe it doesn’t fix all of the things, but it sure makes you a lot happier, makes things work a bit better, and makes you feel great. So I feel like for folks who are still listening, I’m sure you’re smiling and kind of getting excited along with all of us.

I would love for you to do a trial for 15 days. It’s completely free. Again, the link is in the show notes. I have a very simple link that also has videos with Jeffrey and Clayten. It talks about the program, how it works, why it works. There’s tons of studies, there’s lots of graphs there, if you like, that sort of thing. If you go to emilyaarons.com/flfe, you’ll get all that information. There is a link to sign up for the free 15-day trial.

Of course, I’m a proud affiliate, so I want to scream it from the mountaintops. I feel like the more people on FLFE service, the better. And as you know, for all pain and for forward to I mean, just think of that globally, how that affects all of us. That is so fabulous.

So, Jeff and Clayten, thank you for being here, for sharing this work, for creating I mean, really, it’s been it’s so phenomenal, this work that you’re doing. And also thank you for the invitation on the podcast, no less. Oh, thank you for that invitation. I’ll definitely follow up with you about doing some more research with the brilliant minds behind your business. Is there any last words that you’d like to share or how people can learn more about you and and FLFE?

Jeff: Well, highly recommend jumping on the link that you have below. And the free trial is designed to bless you. It’s just for the two-week period is the right length of time for you to be in the field to experience it. And you have control to be your own experimenter. You have the customer portal. You can turn it out, turn it down, turn EMF on or off, and you could be in control. Create your own experiment, your own consciousness experiment. So we love empowering people to be their own researchers and to be their best selves.

Clayten: You don’t have to enter your credit card to do the free trial so you can’t accidentally get billed. We thought that was important. I think I should mention that with the pay-it-forward if you do become a subscriber, you’ll get a pair for a pay-it-forward.

And if you put that on a place in the world, Jeff and I promise to keep that on for as long as we own the business, maybe 20 or 30 years. So that gift will keep on giving. It’s not just by your or your customer.

So. I think for me, Emily, what I appreciate about your perspective is it seems like you’re a lot of people think that to be spiritual, you can’t respect your mind. You know, you have to get rid of your mind. And to some degree, the mind does quiet down. It only gets activated when we use it. But I think spirituality can be seen as including and transcending the mind.

So respecting the mind and its role, respecting the fact that you might need data to help you relax or someone else might need the data, that’s Integris to relax their mind so they can surrender to something bigger. So that’s why we have an evidence-based approach, which is for me, I find that my mind is much more out of the way if I can give it some data that it can believe. And then you know, then the other stuff just shows up easier.

Emily: Absolutely. I also I have one more thing to brag about for you guys. I just thought of it because you said it. So like I said, I started an FLFE on that 15-day trial. And I have to say that is part of what sold me to FLFE, not just because I love the service, but because the way that you have real people following up. The way that you do. So, folks, I don’t want to spoil it for you because it’s really fun.

But when you sign up for the free trial, you have some you get emails that say, you know, here, you signed up for it, here is more about it, blah, blah, blah. But then real people call your phone and you can literally talk to real people who care about your experience. They’re knowledgeable. They will answer your questions. They will continue to call and answer your questions as long as you have them. And so that’s a huge selling point.

I think for me, in this age of, you know, everything is virtual and hands off and there’s no humans and everything is a machine. You know, that meme with the opossum screaming into the phone representative, you know, that’s what everybody. That meme is will live on forever. Because we all know that feeling when you’re like, just give me a real human please and thank you. You have so much integrity. You have real people who truly care. Monica, who helped us set up this interview in our connection. You know, she bought my Angel Card Deck and she you know, she’s part of my world.

And I feel that is the kind of company I want to align with. And I think that, that’s something that maybe you undersell that is so important for why your company is so different than everyone else and all the other places out there, You know, people really do care. I was actually surprised. I’m like, who is this phone number? I let it go to voicemail. Who are these? What is this? And when I heard somebody on the phone, I’m like, wow, that’s how I felt. Wow. These people genuinely care about my experience. So I wanted to toot your horn a little bit about that because, again, a lot of people don’t expect that. And I feel like it’s a huge wow factor. And again, it sets you apart. It sets that gold standard.

So anyway, everybody, emilyaarons.com/flfe. Now, now I’m going to put you on the spot. Are you going to bring back your podcast? What’s going on?

Jeff: Yes. Well, we’re working on a whole bunch of new things.

Emily: Okay, I’ll take that.

Jeff: We’ll let you know first. Yeah.

About Clayten & Jeff

Jeffrey Stegman’s focus has been on creating high consciousness culture in his businesses, which parallels his own personal spiritual path. Jeffrey was the co-owner of two manufacturing businesses, including one that has been in business since 1835. FLFE is a confluence of Jeffrey’s manufacturing, engineering, business, and spiritual evolution.

Clayten Stedmann has worked in the education, training, and coaching business for over thirty years. For the last twenty years, he has focused on business as a spiritual path in his coaching practice. Since discovering Consciousness Kinesiology (CK) in 2004, he has done over five million CK calibrations and created over ten consciousness assessments and several unique energetic medicine protocols. FLFE is a continuation of his purposeful intention to create the conditions for humanity to have a higher level of
consciousness.

Focused Life-Force Energy began in 2008 when two men with an interest in high-consciousness fields met through a mutual friend. After coming across the beginnings of an invention that would become part of the FLFE system, Jeffrey Stegman and Clayten Stedmann worked together to develop it into
more. Eventually, they would broadcast high-consciousness fields to specific locations around the world.

They poured thousands of hours into research and development to share this technology. Beginning with service projects and targeting trauma-hit areas like refugee camps, FLFE grew into a private company and is now invited into the lives of thousands of people in over 75 countries. We still donate approximately 90% of our service with global projects including support for bees, whales, and dolphins as well as other larger global projects. FLFE is a thriving international organization that continues to explore what is in the highest and best interest of all creation.

Emily: Hey, everybody, welcome back to the podcast. As you can tell by the inflection in my voice, I’m very excited. It’s the hardest thing. This is the hardest thing to do like literally stay grounded when my energy is like bouncing like a ball, like I’m just like I feel like maybe like a firework is the more appropriate analogy.

I am joined today by my dear friend Vanessa Farino. I’ve known Vanessa for a number of years. I’d probably have to really look back at exactly how many we know each other. And I invited Vanessa here today because, number one, she is a flippin powerhouse and she has a lot of amazing gifts to share with listeners. But number two, I feel like her story is also part of everybody’s entrepreneurial journey. Like when we made that decision to leave one thing and start another thing.

But the one thing that I just absolutely love and adore, totally admire about Vanessa is no matter what she does, she goes 100% all out and she is like the most unfathomable person I have ever known. And I am saying that with like, the most love, like she’s like, I’m going to do this. And you’re like, Holy what? Like she just pulls off stuff. You’re like, how did you even do that? And you always surprise me. It’s like, whoa.

And so she’s definitely someone to watch out for. She’s the most innovative. She is a leader through and through. So I’m so excited to stop talking and hand over the mic to you so that you can introduce yourself. Vanessa, warm welcome.

Vanessa: Thank you. My name is Vanessa Farino and I am a business strategist who is an award-winning Latina who is here to ignite female founders to create generational wealth, but also impact their communities.

Emily: So let’s tell everybody, where did you start your career? How did you become this strategist? Because, you know, I’ve seen you from being in the corporate world and like just you climb the ladder.

I mean, you did the thing. You climbed the ladder to the top and then you’re like, you know what? No, thanks. I’m actually not going to do this and I’m going to change the world this way. So I would love for you to share that story a little bit.

Vanessa: Absolutely. So I started my career as a receptionist, then a financial assistant office manager, legal assistant. I mean, I worked in so many different areas and industries, but ultimately for the past 15 years, working from the receptionist all the way to chief of staff roles here in downtown Boston at Tech Startup Companies.

I’ve done things as, you know, investor relations, fundraising, you name it. Start company culture, revamped branding, marketing, product and sales launches. Culture is really big to me, really important humans. I love humans and people, they matter so much. And ultimately through that process of working under CEOs who are entrepreneurs and them guiding me and, you know, igniting my entrepreneurial skills as well. I have also founded six companies between a brick and mortar service based and product based, which have also led me to my awards, 30 under 30 and 40 under 40.

Emily: I want to get on some of those awards, run because I’m too late for the 30, under 30 or 40 under 44. Common 50 under 50, let’s do that!

Vanessa: Yes!

Emily: Well, and I know from just being friends, you know, you’ve had some people who’ve you worked with that are such like you always do. They’re such a human. Like I love how you say that, all of that. You know that had heart and soul and people mattered, wellness and legacy mattered in such a big way.

And I remember some of the last folks that you had worked with in a bigger capacity really had an impact on sparking at within you and really saw the spark inside of you. Then they knew, okay, she’s somebody different, she’s not like the rest. And you were able to do some really cool collaborations.

Vanessa: Yes, absolutely. And I have to share in vulnerability, though things have not been like, wheeew,  you know, do the whole process. Everything’s beautiful and cheery belonging to the corporate world. While I have absolutely enjoyed my journey and process, there have also been the people who are like, you’re weird, you’re the black sheep here because you are just not a person who’s a 9 to 5. And I’m like, well, my life is a 24/7 cycle and I evolve as a human and you do too. Please do not shame me. Leave me alone as I’m doing great things.

But ultimately, through the process, we have been able to collaborate. We’ve done summits, I’ve done retreats, I’ve done accelerator programs for our business. And ultimately, it had come down to right. When you’re in business, you think you’re going to go help X amount of people through the transition. Probably very early on your first couple of years, you realize why people need you. And then through that process, you make the decision that you are going to serve Z. Right?

You have boundaries and all of the things. And through that process it has ultimately been working with Millennial Woman who have a corporate experience, who understand what it takes to really climb the corporate ladder, who have skill sets, but also understand that there is a different side of humanity that we have yet to explore and evolve and be grateful to our ancestors for the sacrifices that they have made for us to have the privilege to say, Wow, I’m a human, I am creative, I am a creative human, and I have the opportunity to do X, Y, and Z because I do have talents and I get to evolve. And it doesn’t matter what age you are because you know it’s art, really. And I believe that our ages, the energy that we put out there. Yeah, my grandma, she’s 80 something years old and she is the most youthful person I have yet to meet.

Emily: She is. Also well, and I think also making these different choices. It is an opportunity, but it’s also we how privileged are we that we can decide, oh, well, I want to leave my corporate job and do my own thing. What a joy that is. But also, it’s a huge risk to be able to take that leap.

And a lot of cases, you know, we enter the workforce because we want safety and security. And I know especially this week and last week, it’s been coming up a lot with me as well as my community around safety and security. I don’t know what’s happening in the stars. I got to go talk with those people, but it’s like it’s bringing all of our stuff up to the surface to look at the old stories and to, you know, do get some healing around them so that we can propel forward, so we can help other people through those issues as well, of course. So I would love if you could share, you know, when you were realizing I mean, you had already started some startups while you were still in corporate, you had to make those shifts.

Things were already kind of working in their place. When you decided to finally like that last, that last little thing that set you off, it were like, no, I’m good. We’re done with this. And you decided to step away from corporate. Can you take us through that decision-making process? Because I know a lot of folks who are in corporate or who have a side hustle kind of going like these kinds of two things are working for me. How do you make that transition?

Vanessa: Yeah, absolutely. So I think there’s multiple aspects to the conversation. Number one is having the realization of where did you learn and understand as a child growing up with self-value? Where does it come from? So in our society, we are taught that, you know, your value comes from having a traditional life where you find a career. One, we’re not allowed to have multiple and you take that career and you be the best at the best. And being the best of the best is considered climbing up the ladder.

So the second conversation, it’s but what actually do you like doing? And you don’t know until you try all the things and realize all the things you don’t like. And you have to continue in my belief, you have to continue to try things as a human because we’re put on this planet and we are just so privileged to be here on Mother Earth. And she’s providing us with all of these possible opportunities to create and exist in all of the things. So to bring that in a full circle, having the conversation with yourself and saying, Is the corporate ladder fulfilling?

And most of us human beings where we are today, in this day and age will saWe’ve were taught to feel and molded into that. It is fulfilling and I will get thousand percent 90% of my life, I was like, I love my corporate career, I love it, I love it, I love it. I love it because I did enjoy it because I was dealing with humans and I love humans and I was helping. And as humans, we want to help. But then it came to the realization, but actually, you’ve become so good and mastered all of the things that you find the self-value through that cycle. Great.

Now let’s push that aside and see do you actually enjoy it? And the answer was I do not, because my whole life in my corporate career as an awakening recently, I share in vulnerability. I knew I didn’t fit in these rooms, but I was fighting to be in these rooms because I knew I looked different as a Latina woman. And I was mostly 20 years of an age gap difference from the people that were here. While I was very grateful for the opportunities because it’s not very common that you have CEO white male-dominated industries pulling a chair for a young Latina woman.

I thought, where are my peers? How can I support to get them? Let me show them that it’s possible. Let me break the barriers and doors. In reality, we don’t need to break down barriers. We don’t need to break the ceiling. We don’t need to climb the ladder. We don’t need anything to exist. And that was the real the hardest realization for me to actually overcome and understand. I’ve heard so many times people say, breathing is enough, your existence is enough. And I’m like, that sounds crazy. It doesn’t make sense. I have to be some way give back to have self-worth and self-doubt. So having that realization is very important. And how do you do that?

You only can do that, in my opinion, by meeting yourself in deeper levels emotionally, and that could be through methodologies, whether that’s meditation or walking or therapy, whatever it is that you choose. But being very intentional in saying, I’m trying to be myself in the deepest level I have yet thus too.

It’s going to be painful, but I’m willing to go there because not only am I going to heal myself, you are genuinely going to feel yourself in your DNA within your cells change. You’re going to have unique conversations with your family members or friends, and then all of a sudden you’re like, What just happened? And then you’re like, I’m breaking generational traumas and all these. But then more of to a different person.

But it is absolutely with gratitude that I look at any obstacle that comes through my path, which I understand will happen for the rest of my life. I look at the obstacles. I’m grateful for the obstacle that you’re here because you’re here to teach me something. And I’m no longer going to approach it with resistance. If anything, you’re here to teach me something. And when there’s an obstacle, the slower pace, it’s like methodical, right? It’s like the slower pace that I go that doesn’t necessarily mean sit in your room and just staring at the wall all day, it could. But overall, I’m going on around.

Emily: Like this, no, I like this. My audience are full of people who this is their language so you’re speaking to them. And also, I think there’s something you highlighted around breaking down barriers. Like I don’t have to break down barriers. I don’t have to do all this stuff to prove that I am worthy, that I’m not contributing. And, you know, to your point, too, around corporate, we do find value in it.

You know, I remember, you know, even though I was doing massage on the side of my corporate 9 to 5 job as an executive assistant, this high-level bank in this prestigious like, well sector, you know there was some kind of itch and scratched which was the safety and security. But I felt like I had sort of like made it somehow that I was wearing this like pencil skirt and these high heels I felt like important somehow. And there was something to that that I was like not quite getting elsewhere. And I think that’s what kept me there. But after a certain while, you’re like, Who do I think I really am? And I used to make a joke around some of the people within the organization that, you know, they would say things like, Do you know who I think I am? Because it’s like, within this world, everyone knows who you are. But if you step outside this building and this company, no one knows who you are.

And so when we come back to being human and wanting to go into deeper depths of ourselves, like really identifying like who am I and what am I here to do? And like, what you’re talking about is this depth of healing and overcoming obstacles because you truly know your purpose. You truly know what you’re designed to do, and there’s nothing and no one who can stop you from living that truth. It’s like a bell when it rings. You can’t unring it.

And, you know, I think that’s also something I’ve always loved and admired about you when it comes to opening doors for other people. You know, you’ve had networking organizations and I even see you doing it now. It’s like you’re opening doors for people to collaborate, to connect, to open up new connections, opportunities for like beyond this. And I was saying to before we started recording, you know, I was looking at some old photos with my kids last night, and I see this album from like probably five years ago, and you put together this like cruise.

And I’m like, okay, first of all, I’m going to Boston that’s scary. Second of all, I’m going to be with said, that’s not scary, okay? I’m going to be with a whole bunch of strangers on a cruise, okay? Like it was like all these different things that kind of pushed me. And I remember making some beautiful connections there, of course, like dancing with you and your mom and like, and having so much fun. But like, you always create these containers and there’s like, this catalyst, like you genuinely love connecting people. You genuinely want the best for people and you’ve always done that. And you just started this was it called CEO Circle?

Vanessa: Yes.

Emily: Okay, so and so maybe I’m jumping around a little bit here, but I feel it’s like it’s that next level that’s that next iteration. Now it’s this is a digital platform. You’re opening this group. So CEO Circle popped up and you opened it. And within how many hours, there’s like almost 100 people in it.

Vanessa: Yes, within less than 24 hours, we have hundred members join, which shows us that people are craving this. And you can totally say, oh, just another community or another acts, that’s fine. But for the people who make the decision to step into that door, I take 1,000% responsibility as a host of a community, of experience, of an event, of a container, of working with people, whatever that is. And I think that’s very important when you decide and say, I need support. Human, humans, there is data scientifically, we are not meant to be alone. And that’s okay because I respect that there are times where I’m much more introverted than when I feel extroverted, which by the way, I’m actually someone who is an introvert at heart. But I chose to be a community leader, and with that responsibility comes being an extrovert.

So making sure that when I am creating experiences, whether they are online or they are in person, that I know what it feels like to say, I’m going somewhere and I have to get dressed up, I have to commute, I have to get there, and I probably won’t meet anybody and there’s going to be a billion people and I just want to be home doing X, Y, and Z. There is no shame in that. But I can tell you guaranteed and Emily has a testimonial right here that when you do come to one of these experiences, it is an experience because from the moment that you get to the door, you are going to find me. Or for a moment when you join CEO Circle within like 5 minutes, I’m in your chat, I’m like, hi, it’s me. It’s nice to meet you, thank you for being here. If you need anything, let me know. I really create human experiences. And that’s why it’s very important because I know people need that. They need the extra TLC, and it comes so naturally for me to be able to be that nurture type of person. So, yeah…

Emily: Yeah, I mean, and I’ve been in countless groups that you’ve hosted, you know, whether it be like the cruise or like, let’s just go get like tacos somewhere or I’m going to go to your mom’s birthday party. And by the way, everybody on your table’s only speaking Spanish. I’m like, I’ll just work on my Spanish right now real quick. And, you know, like you still are able to foster community in no matter what the angle is.

So I am positive that CEO Circle is it’s, it’s I feel like it’s one of those innately sexy offers that like we’re hungry for we’re thirsty for our soul is craving. And I know you attract like-minded people. And so I can definitely say, well, I know it started off with 100 people, but I know where it’s going. Like, I know what Vanessa’s capable of. You don’t even know what’s but because I know you dream big, you think big, you have a global hunger, this desire and this hunger inside of you, which I totally adore.

Vanessa: Yeah. And I think also to add to that, it’s not just creating the experiences, but making sure that there’s representation of different colors and voices in these rooms, whether they are digital or they are in person. That for me is key because for most of my life I was the only person and that is fine if that works for other other companies, there is no shame.

But in my world that does not exist, right? That does not exist. And we want people to feel represented in any possible way. So to anybody who does work with me, come to an event or participate in any way, that is how you matter, because you are taking up space. And while we can say we can hear so many people, share your voice, share your story, you take up space. It’s the physical aspect of doing and also energetically taking that responsibility of, I know I can do this because I deserve and just see what happens. Magic happens.

Emily: Yeah, it does. And I’m glad that you’re creating these spaces, so grateful. So when you stepped away from corporate and you started to coach people and I was sort of say you were saying you’ve been really loving doing some of the one on one work, when you get to kind of get into people’s business, stir things up, shifted around.

You had a really cool experience that you share with me before we started recording. I’m like, Oh my God, oh my God, we need to stop talking and start recording because you shared a client who wanted who is from a corporate background, sort of have like a side hustle. I’ll let you explain it better than me.

Vanessa: Yeah, absolutely. So with all due respect, I tell anybody who has and a possible business idea. Respectfully, don’t call your business idea a side hustle. So I tell people, if you have a business idea and you intentionally, truly believe in it, do your due diligence as if you were going to buy a home, right?  You do your market research. You understand where you stand in the market. You’re not just like, I’m going to sell water bottles just because my neighbor said they’re cute, right?

And you’re like, I understand where I’m positioned in the market. I understand how I can make money. I understand how it’s important for me to step into multiple roles. I understand the responsibility that it takes to be a business owner.

Do not call your business a side hustle. I don’t care if you work in it five or 10 hours a week because I’m going to tell you that these C-level people are involved in a shitload of non-profits organization boards. They don’t call their corporate CEO titles side hustles. Also, it goes back to value because the number of hours that you work does not equate to the value of side or full-time. So I always say if you have a business, say it’s a business. And if it is your main priority, such as mine is right now, it’s your main priority.

And I think I went into a rant that I didn’t even answer your question, but I remember. I got it. So the last two years, we are celebrating our two-year anniversary this summer.

Emily: My gosh. Congratulations!

Vanessa: And previously before this year we were doing we a.k.a I.

Emily: Yes

Vanessa: me and my team. I was doing accelerator programs and bringing people through all the different possible departments and buckets in their business to do x, y, z. With that being said, I set the intention this year because I was craving it. I was craving that one on one, whereas I was telling you like, I really want to do some major strategy with clients one on one and be able to roll my sleeves up, roll my sleeves up and get dirty with them. But let’s get dirty, Let’s have fun. Business should be fun. Yes, there are aspects that possibly could be a little more tense than others, but I have this one particular client that I’m so grateful for because she was the one who sparked the interest of working with clients one on one.

I started working with her last February. She was doing $300 a month. She came from a corporate hedge fund background and now she’s over 10K months consistently for the last six months. And now we are working a plan to hit 20K. And you know, she’s not locally based in Massachusetts. I fly to see her quarterly.

We have a beautiful relationship and it’s spread the word to get referrals and other clients and the potential and right now at the current moment, it is something that is very rewarding to me where I am ultimately sort of that chief operating officer for my clients, where anything that comes up strategy, we’re like, okay, you know, let’s talk about it.

Let’s provide solutions. There’s nothing more than I love. Then when people bring me spaghetti and they’re like, make it work, fix it. And I’m like, okay, that sounds so fun. And they’re like, I truly believe business should be simplified. I’m the person also manifesting generator. I don’t think anything is impossible. Brilliant.

Emily: Yeah I’m also MG as well.

Vanessa: Yes I know 🙂

Emily: And I think it’s great especially for manifesting generators that we can have our hands in different things and it doesn’t make us bored. And what I’ve learned about myself is that when I started my online business, I was like, I’m going to do this next week. I’m going to do this next week and I’m going to do that. And then over time I realize I really love these few things and I’m going to deliver in this way. So here is a funnel that I can throw all of these creative ideas into. So I’m never bored, but it’s always like one thing instead of like a smorgasbord of like so many different options.

And I love that you can be a COO in other people’s businesses. And for somebody who has just hired my first COO, it’s like, I can’t describe it. It’s not the same as it was. She and I also have a very unique, very special like deep relationship together personally. And I think that really helps. And for me, that’s important to me. For some people, they might be like, it’s work, so keep it at that level. And I can’t, I fall in love with people.

Vanessa: That’s MG. I know. I don’t know that we can.

Emily: You’re in and I love you. Let’s put a ring on it. The end.

Vanessa: Yes 🙂

Emily: But I think what’s what’s so unique about having COO and if you’re helping people out at that level, you have to get personal.

You have to get into it because, you know, you might see that plate of spaghetti, you know, like I don’t even know what’s going on, but you’re going to find at the baseline when you cleared the deck and you’re like, okay, let’s start from the beginning. You’re going to find the stuff that’s hidden beneath the surface. Why? Why is it a spaghetti in the first place? And why are we doing these things to distract us from the real thing that should be over here. And by the way, you are massively underpricing yourself. And this is the direction you say you want to go, but you’re doing all these things.

So, it’s so great to be able to have somebody who’s got that strategic thinking brain who can sort through the mess and who can say, here’s call them one, two and three. You’re doing these two things at the end. It’s like, oh my gosh.

For me as a CEO and as a creative thinker and as manifesting generator, when I have my she makes me a punch list every week. Like we have our goals, we have our weekly meetings, we have our biweekly team meetings, and every single day I’m like, Oh, I’m like a golden retriever. Oh, I’m so excited. I have this idea. And she’s like, go put it on the ideas meeting form. I’m like, right, go to the ideas meeting board, you know, and I have a place where I can put those things, but I have my short list that she gives me. Like this is just, just stay in the lines, follow this… Well, but it makes such a huge difference.

And I can say that like my load, the load that I’m carrying, it gets so much lighter. So that makes it easier for me to serve at my highest level. And when I’m serving at my highest level and I am more tapped into my joy and my fun and I can take off time and I can go play and I can get facials in the middle of the day and like, go have a lunch day with a friend, and Vanessa, you know, it’s like, oh my gosh, that energy is so yummy. It just changes everything.

So, of course, she’s now making more money. Of course she is. And so you are like this sole magic sauce in her business. So you love seeing people one on one or do you love working with groups? Do you like both? How so?

Vanessa: For the for the remainder of the year, actually, for all of the year, I’ve committed to only work one on one with people. Do have experiences that we are doing live in person as well, but particularly working with one on one. I so happen to have my clients be a lot of on the East Coast. So while I say when we start working together, I cannot promise that you’ll see me in person, but I can also promise I love to travel and then all of a sudden I’m in their face within 30 days and I build and cultivate the relationships with them. Because if if they’re asking, this is where I see the vision. This is what I ask them. What is your story of origin as a human? Because that is important, right? And then also, what is it that you want to accomplish? What are your weaknesses? And you have to create that recipe as that person, right as that guy, right?

The COO for people and building that relationship with people is hard, especially if it’s virtual. So for me, the human connection is 1,000% important and it also continues to help me learn how to continue to lead with empathy and compassion. But also I’m all about tough love. My clients know that that I’m like, you told me you want to be here and give them the data that you’re giving me. Right now. We’re going in the wrong direction. Rerouting, rerouting.

And like you said, for your COO, it’s making sure that you are on track for what you envision, for what you see, but also, most importantly, challenge you to get uncomfortable in your comfort zone. But holding their hand and saying you are safe, it is okay, you are loved. And I’m here through this process to go through any battle with you because I’m amazing and you’re amazing. You know, we’re going to get through it. And that’s exactly what has happened with most of my clients.

Emily: Right. And having somebody say that to you because usually we’re like a little island all up on our own. And maybe there are some team members that look up to us and depend on us to delegate tasks. And suddenly there’s a CEO who can be that intermediary and who can be like, Listen, Beau, I got you.

You’re not going to fall down today. It’s like, you’re right. I believe in myself. Like I need that extra little boost. And I think as leaders, we need somebody who can be there. And, you know, I have an amazing network of wonderful friends who are enormously successful entrepreneurs in their own right, and it’s not their business to be in my business. I tell them what I tell them. They tell me what they and we can support each other, of course, and work through different issues. But when someone is like their sleeves rolled up like yours, you’re like, I know what’s happening.

Vanessa: There’s an area of vulnerability and trust. And just areas of life that you’re meeting this person as a relationship, right? We have romantic relationships and this is a business relationship.

So it’s very important that you are feeling seen, heard, understood, but also that you trust to this person and allowing to put your wall down in your boundaries, that this person will also have the best interest for you to call you out in certain scenarios and situations and or if you’re not acting upon possible opportunities that are out there for you like, girlfriend what are you doing?

And yes, there’s a difference between having your entrepreneur friends because they will only know certain aspects of life of your business as well. But when you have that person who’s really dedicated to you, it’s very important in which I have been working on with Human Design because it changed my life back so many years ago. And I thought to myself to understand my clients in a deeper level, right, in a way that I can really able to move things around for them, but also clarity on how we can build trust together. It is something that energetic wise. I like to tap in briefly with them and say these are some of the possibilities for you. Please allow me to step into this energetic space for you. And of course, by any means, if you think that I’m overstepping, say something, I’m going to overstep more.

Emily: Yeah, I’ll keep going. 😀 I’ll just keep on going.

Vanessa: This is what you hired me for.

Emily: But I think it’s so valuable. And I mean, this is also the thing is, like, we can look at back to the beginning the conversation of like, trying different things to know what you like. You know, you had to walk through that path to get the experience and the confidence in yourself and your skillset to get to where you are today, where you can walk in and be somebody’s COO.

Vanessa: Absolutely. So it’s so interesting. And to me, I’m like, Gosh, I’m so grateful for all of the other businesses that I had one started and created and made successful and put my ego aside and closed them down when I no longer felt aligned with them while in society. And my clients at the time thought I was crazy, like literally crazy. Why would you do that? At the minimum, sell your business? And to me it did not feel of integrity to do so.

I look back now, understanding myself have been a business owner in so many different facets and so many brick and mortar service based and product base understanding, e-commerce, understanding different industries and like all of the different scenarios.

Now, finally with Creative CEO, I’m like, I no longer have to open up all of these businesses because I can support with strategy to all of these female founders in unlimited ways.

And I would have not found so much joy and also so much way to give back to people. If I didn’t go through all of that and to me, I was like pulling my hair, Oh my gosh, you got 2500 orders. This should be the best thing ever. But there’s like, I need to find a warehouse, I need to do this, I need to that. And so there’s just so many different things. I look back and I’m like, I understand why. And allowing our ego and putting aside that we don’t need to understand everything point blank. Just be in the present moment.

Emily: Yeah, I love what you said about authenticity as well. You kind of slip that in there, so back check, My COO Amanda, has worked for a number of pretty big brands herself as well. She has been a health startup… she’s a certified health coach. So she’s had her own business and she’s done some other things. And when we first kind of came together, it was just a project basis. She was helping me with my certification, all the back-end stuff. I was like, here’s what it’s going to be. How do you do all of these things? You know, it was like, I’m channeling the program and here’s how it’s going to look. I have no idea how to make A,D,B.

So she was part of that birthing process with me and I told her when we first start work, I said, if this program goes the way I think it’s going to go, I’m probably going to fall in love with you and I’m probably going to want to like take this to the next level. I’m just letting you know upfront. And, you know, I thought it was funny until she realized it was literally what I meant. I mean what I say.

But through the process of getting to know each other, what came to the surface also for her was this lack of integrity, lack of authenticity from people that she previously worked with and kind of the scars that it left behind for her. And so when we started working together, you know, and like every day I’m like, you are amazing. I love you. I can’t believe I’m like crying because I’m like, this never would be possible with you. We’re having graduations and I’m crying. All the students are crying like, this is all thanks to Amanda.

And she’s like, Oh my God, like, I’m getting credit for something that I, you know, like there’s a lot of wounds that are previous wounds, but that as we build these partnerships, whether it’s a long term or short term, like you got to look at those as well. And I know in my own personal relationship with Amanda, we both are helping each other heal some really deep wounds that we’ve previously been through. And like for me, it’s the safety. I’m here. I got you. You’re not alone. Like I go take a break Emily, I got this.

And then for her, it’s like, you know, your voice matters, your work matters. I want to recognize you publicly. I want to cheer you on and acknowledge your contributions. And I’m not going to blame you and point the finger if something goes wrong like all of that. So I wonder how that plays into your role and with the companies that you’ve been involved with, with like past icky situations, let’s just say.

Vanessa: Yeah. So I think at least when it comes to my corporate life, there will always be the if they never say anything. Nothing’s wrong and nothing ever was said. So there’s always the whole self-worth the self-value.

And I found so much joy and things that came out of owning my business. And I’m like, Oh, I actually got a compliment from a client and that is so wonderful. I made their day or we help them do this or we did that. But I think ultimately also side note to add to this, just because we’re on the topic is that whether you are in corporate or you have your business, it is your full responsibility to set up the person for success, whether they are part-time, full-time contractor, day person, whatever they are your sole responsibility.

So many people have said, particularly who own their own businesses, this person didn’t work out in my first question is, but did you set them up for success? And they will say, Oh, but, oh, but they’re the expert. Okay, do you have a job description? Is there static expectations? You sit with them on their first day. Did you go through that training? Do you have a manual? Do you do, do you? And they’re like, No. And I’m not here to shame you. I’m here just to shed awareness that you are hiring a human with feelings, right? That comes with these scars and bruises and past situations just as yourself. Because we are not more and they are not less and vice versa. And treating everything with a people first approach.

And when working with people, it’s quite interesting how I’m learning to volume up my voice in scenarios because I would see things when politics, what happen in corporate and injustice happened. Unfortunately, you have to not be the problematic employee and put your head down. Then I’ve been in situations where I was the problematic employee when I was saying this is unfairness, or it’s actually even against the handbook that you wrote as the employer.

But ultimately as a business owner, you have the rules set from clear, right? The slate is right in front of you, white and black. And you have the opportunity to do people at first an understanding that your client’s journey is very important and not necessarily that things, things that are automated are great because they take time off of our you know, they give us time back. But also importantly, it’s like, well, how are you actually going to connect with clients in a different way if you’re automating X?

And I do understand that that might not necessarily feel comfortable for many people because they might not energetically want to associate themselves with people in different areas and aspects. And that’s fine if you don’t feel inclined to own a business that is wonderful, if that doesn’t feel aligned for you. But if you do feel that you are inspired to even just try, do so.

Because if you talk to anybody who is in their late ages, which life is not promised to any of us, but if they’re in their late season ages, you will always hear the number one advice that they say never have doubts. Like, you know, always try something. The what-ifs are the things that are going to be the most regretful. So if we are truly living in our way of the best life that we can possibly have, not just for ourselves, but for our ancestors, I do think that matters. All of our decisions do reflect to all of them is just if you have an idea, we’ve heard this so many times, it’s for a freakin reason. Just ACT – because you will never get criticized by the people who are doers. The people who are going to criticize you are the people who don’t DO. And that is okay.

Emily: Amen. Your mic drop moment, yas! 😀 you will never get criticized by the doers. I agree. I agree.

And I think it’s hard, you know, I was doing some journaling last week because I had a particularly challenging week. And I was like, you know what? When I started doing this helping the world thing, you know, I had this mission and I didn’t know that we weren’t just going to be BFFs from the moment you met me and started to follow me on Instagram to, you know, eternity, that there are people who are going to come into your business just like friends for a reason, a season or a lifetime. And I saw people, you know, change from when they started programs to when they finished them, and some people didn’t finish that. And it’s like, what?

So now that my eyes are wide open, I can tell, you know, if I’ve got 50 people in a program, we’re not going to leave 50 people at the end of it, probably not even 50 in the middle of it if we’re really being honest.

And that’s just human nature. And so part of me, I was like journaling about, So why am I doing this? Like, I know I’m here to make an impact on millions of practitioners. And I also know it by human nature. Not everyone is going to walk the walk.

Vaness: Right.

Emily: And I can’t force that on anybody. And there are going to be people, which in the case was last week, who don’t do the work, don’t meet the requirements, but still blame me for everything. You know, they’ll blame their peers. Well, they had it easier than me. And your requirements are too rigorous. You know, it’s like, well, you signed up for it. You know, it’s like, it’s like, so what? What? Why am I doing this? Somebody like a glutton for punishment.

So I’m sure, like, I know you are a humanitarian at heart, but you must also come into contact with some really difficult situations as well where maybe like me last week, like questioning, like what am I actually trying to do,  thus it doesn’t mean I don’t want to help, like what is going on? Have you seen some of those sort of scenarios?

Vanessa: Yeah. So it was absolutely the first year in business for Creative CEO where I was still testing the waters, right? As I mentioned at the beginning, I thought I was going to help X, Y was coming through the door and I was like, Hold on. Not sure that either one. Like, we need a combination, a little bit of both. And the recipe was for Z, Z as the client. But ultimately I decided that before I have any clients start working with me and have a human conversation and I say this is how I work.

You are a great, like I don’t care if it takes me 50 hours a week to have this conversation with them, you need to understand I’m not going to do the work for you. I’m here to teach you. I’m here to strategize with you. I’m here to get dirty with you.

But if I’m going to do more work than you and be more obsessed with the vision of your business, we are not aligned and I have it in my contract, I have it in white and black, I have the conversation in person. And if you check my client success stories on the website. Every single client of mine has – I’ve helped thus far 32 female founders, and they all say you have to put in the work to be able to see the fruition.

And let me tell you, the hard work is freaking fun. Yes, we might pull our hair every few days in the month, but there’s nothing wrong with that. And I will tell my clients if there’s a moment, I feel like you’re going through a moment of resistance. I do think that this is personal. We will reschedule. And the boundaries in the beginning, and I know how hard that can be because people will point and I know that first-year people did point. Okay. Thank you. I hope you have a wonderful day and goodbye.

Emily: Yeah.

Vanessa: And it sucks because what they’re not realizing is that their actions are affecting other humans. And that’s not cool. But, yes, we have to continue to walk the walk. And I love that you brought that up, because I have seen also many times where things are not led through the leaders, through a people-first approach. And that actually brought me to therapy and first year.

Through my market research because I went down a very dark hole not wanting to be associated in the industry, not even wanting to step into this and knowing I am brilliant at it because I found resentment in between what I had found at work in my lifetime and also still seeing it in this industry where we are to support business owners.

And I’m like, but wait a minute, aren’t we here to help women succeed in life? And if we are not leaders walking the walk because it doesn’t take rocket science to find this information that’s very open in the public. And then it’s like, Well, what am I doing? I’m now the black sheep in this industry that I want to walk the walk. And what is the purpose?

Because ultimately we are mirroring in this space that we are trying to step into for the future of the world. What was the previous of the world? Just a new facade and beautiful marketing and just wrapped up with all of this cute stuff. I’m like, that kind of defeats the purpose of existing and of evolving. I appreciate you bringing that up because I do think that is something that I had struggled so much with as a business owner. So if there’s anybody who is listening.

I find that that lesson for me was the beginning of self-worth and any situation that is triggering to you that is deeply painful and or questionable for you keep going in that direction until it’s not painful anymore. And it could take years because it did take me almost two years to heal in that way. But it’s going to be the best thing that you can do for yourself and for your clients. And it’s going to show.

Emily: Amen.

Vanessa: Nothing else has to be done or said or even confronted with other people.

Emily: Yeah. Amen. I think that’s the hard part about being a disruptor. If you’re saying, you know, that’s really unethical or that’s not cool, this is the direction I’m taking. I’m taking the high road and I’m taking it with integrity and with heart.

And I love your people-first approach, you know, with this certification, I’ve been seeing a lot of that come up for for me because the bar, especially for practitioner has been set so low that there’s just such a huge leap to say, how do you show professionally and with integrity and really shine without doing these weird, sleazy things that these business only people are trying to teach me? It doesn’t translate in transformational healing work. What do I do? And then they get into this like lost, confused state.

And now you said the term black sheep a couple of times, I have said that I actually have been working with a hypnotherapist who is going to be on the podcast any day now for whenever it airs. Maybe it’s already here by the time this comes out.

But one of the things I was working on was saying that about me by myself, about being the black sheep of my family and about being kind of like this black sheep, almost like in the industry that I’m at, because I’m not just like the psychic and the energy healer. And I’m not just the business strategist. I’m this unicorn that’s sort of like middle-of-the-road of both.

And so she introduced the term that I’ve been using, thankfully, and hypnosis around being the unicorn of my industry, of being the unicorn in my family is like we are sparkly still. And, you know, I think it’s a good thing that you stand out in that way. And I’m glad that you got to do the deeper work to realize your own worthiness and that and, you know, I think it’s also really important that we we do get those triggers. We get triggered by people, by them being sleazy or them being too shiny or them being in a bathtub of $100 bills.

Vanessa: I can’t even tell you I have been someone who has reported a professional to the US. I know that there’s like some sort of big like federal. They took my money paid in full, nothing. I got nothing out of them.

So for anybody who’s also listening before you hire someone. Look at their credentials. Not just their marketing, because they could be nice people and that’s great, right? Like, for example, Emily has such an experience. Like, I met her back, I think 2014, 2015. You are the one who sparked me onto this like, journey. I feel like I was in space and I’m like, this is so cool. We’re going to do wonderful things in life.

And then Emily was like, you do know that you have a rocket ship right next to you that you can jump on to at any given point and just go anywhere with it, right? And you were that person, right? Not only did you change my life, but you are someone who was so educated, so human. First forward approach, not afraid to be the black sheep with love and power.

So, find yourself interviewing that person as if you are interviewing at a corporate world, because you will find that it’s important to really understand what your expectations are as anybody working with someone, right? But then also, when you do find someone who’s truly aligned from your human levels, but also for your business levels, as is Emily, you’re going to feel 100% at the end of whatever existing business relationship that you have with that person ultimately.

And I do think that there are ten situations that we just need to keep walking the walk. Because I will tell you, I keep tabs as I continue to do market research in the industry and trends for the people. Back in 2019, 80% of those businesses no longer exist and or have pivoted 700 times. There’s no shame in that.

Emily: Yeah.

Vanessa: Yeah, but you know, it’s important because at the end of the day. When people are going to say, Oh, but who is that Emily? or who is the Vanessa? We are consistent with our word no matter what it is that we are tapped in or excited about.

Emily: Amen.

Vanessa: It’s important.

Emily: Amen. Well, I love this conversation. We didn’t know exactly where it was going,

Vanessa: I know 🙂

Emily: And here we are, and I feel like you’ve dropped some, like, awesome truth bombs. And I also love how we can kind of go from sharing background stories to how do we evolve as a human, how do we evolve as a business. How do we show up with people first? And I think, you know, these leadership qualities are foundational. So it’s really great that we got to kind of touch on them a little bit.

So, you know, I love you and I would love for people who are listening. If you resonated with Vanessa, her energy, you know, you could use a COO in your business. Emily: Everybody, welcome back to the Aligned and Unstoppable Podcast. I’m joined by a special guest, Rebecca Tracey. And the reason why I wanted to invite Rebecca to be on the podcast for all of you is because I found her using a unique approach which was saying, maybe you don’t need social media as much as you think you do, to acquire leads and to grow your business. And I love that messaging, first of all, because it’s a little bit like what? And I also saw it on social media, so I was like – Oh, this is interesting. So I was like, I got to talk to this girl.

But I think there’s so much that my audience is going to really enjoy hearing from you because I know you coach a very similar demographic of people who are newer in their business. And so I’d love to sort of open up that can of worms of like, how should we be using social media to bring in more people or should we not be like this, is there are there carrier pigeons? Like what is the alternative?

Rebecca: Yes, that’s the best way these days.

Emily: Yeah, it’s really… message in a bottle. Put it in the ocean. So I want to talk about that. But before we get into all of that, I would love for you to really introduce yourself. Sort of how did you get to this place and tell us a little bit more about you.

Rebecca: Yeah. Thank you. I’m Rebecca Tracey. Also go by Becca, kind of 50-50. My business is the UncagedLife, I started it in 2011, so it is an old, old business now. It’s going on for about 12 years, which is nuts. And I started it… I started I was doing kind of a mash-up of things. I had just graduated from a program in holistic nutrition. I’d done a life coach training. I was working on a side for an online wellness company, doing all of their social media and blogging.

And I was like most new businesses being like, how I wish all these things together. What am I even doing here? And I was kind of messing around with that. And what I found was that a lot of the people that I was in my circles were other health coaches and other life coaches. And the thing and I was practicing my coaching skills and so I was just taking on as many free clients as I could. And I think that they all needed help with, was really figuring out what they wanted to be doing kind of with their lives, but also with this new career that they were moving down in the coaching world. And so I ended up coaching them on figuring out what they really wanted to do.

And a lot of it I found, is, you know, giving people permission to not do the things they didn’t want to do, etc… And so that plus then I was learning all of these online business skills on the side and I was like, you know what? I was kind of teaching those to my clients as I was going.

So it worked its way into what I do now, which is really helping new business owners, especially people in kind of the coaching wellness fields, learn what it really takes to get clients and kind of cutting out all the BS of all the really overcomplicated marketing tactics and getting people really clear on their foundations. So like really niche and really strong messaging, really having an understanding of how to actually sell what they do. That’s my focus now.

Emily: Great. Well, I love that. And you’re speaking to the right crowd. All of my listeners are here with that same mission. They’re here to lead. They’re here to help people. They’re coaches, healers and leaders. And this is really important for them to know.

And it’s funny, I’ve been teaching, not a workshop, but a program, a three-month program that’s really building on those fundamentals, those the ground level. What are these fundamentals that if I do for a long time consistently, it’s actually going to work?

And what was really funny that came up with one of the calls yesterday was essentially somebody saying, well, I’m looking to have these results and I haven’t gotten them yet. And it’s like, okay, so let’s talk about that. And when we ask about what’s the result, first of all, what are we talking about results and what are you measuring? And what happened was that this customer was saying, I’m pointing at you, meaning me? You’re supposed to get me these results and it’s supposed to happen right away, which is not at all my promise. It’s not part of the sales page. Don’t have a magic wand, although I do have a unicorn headband.

But that’s part of, I think, that new mindset and mentality of, you know, I’m going to sign up for a coach or a program and they are going to fix the problem. They’re going to fix the leak in my boat. The water won’t have to come anymore and I won’t drown and die. But what really showed up really strongly was emphasizing this is your responsibility, your results are your responsibility.

And so part of what I really excited to get into with you is how can we bring somebody who is new to this, who doesn’t really have a foundation, who is like literally just doing busy work, thinking like, I’m building a business. See, I’m so busy all day, I’m building a business to actually get them to do the right things so they can niche down and get their messaging honed in. So let’s really open up to that. So where do you see people really struggling the most when they. When they’re finding you.

Rebecca: Yeah. I think what you just said about busywork is so true. Because I did this when I was in my nutritionist health coaching days where I was like, okay, I need a logo and I need a business card and I need brand colors. And I was like, working on the business. But for what? Like, did anyone ever hire me because I had those business cards that had a cute little logo that kind of look like a lettuce leaf, but also was a flower and that, like nobody cared. How long did I work? Trying to think of a tagline for my business cards? And I knew this is 2011. So like, you know, it’s a little bit more old school, but I still see people coming to me thinking they need a logo, thinking they need all of these things and they’re spending time on shit that does not matter. It still doesn’t even mean you’re successful. You don’t need a logo. You don’t actually need a tagline like it doesn’t, it doesn’t all that. But it’s what I found is that it feels good for people to work on those visual things because it’s like…

Emily: Right.

Rebecca: there is something to show for it. And when you’re sitting on your niche and you’re like, fine-tuning the language around how you’re going to articulate it, it’s like it’s messier work, It’s harder work because it forces you to make decisions about things versus just kind of stay in the like, let’s make it look pretty without actually really even knowing what you’re selling. It’s easier to do that busy work, but you have something to show for.

I think it also makes people feel like they have their shit together. It’s like, look, I have a logo. Look, I made this and it’s like, Oh, you have a real business, then you have something to show. But I would argue that is not a real business and that the better work you can be doing is actually the down and dirty work of really digging in to getting so clear about what you’re offering and niching work and the stuff that you know is harder for new business owners to wrap their head around.

Emily: Yeah. So let’s dive into that. So what are what would be some advice or some tips that you could share around niching down or understanding your customer a little bit better?

Rebecca: Yeah. The niching thing is such a big one. I think it’s super important to niche in when you’re starting just for the reason, not because it’s going to be the forever of your business and everything’s set in stone, but because it’s going to help you get clients faster. And the problem when you start is you’re doing so much work and you’re not getting paid and it feels, you know, overwhelming and it feels disheartening and you start to feel defeated eventually and then you quit before you actually get anywhere.

And so it’s really important to start making money fast so that you’re like, Oh, things are working and you have some motivation to go forward. Nobody wants to keep doing a bunch of work and not getting anything from it. So niching in isn’t bad. So I think the more specific you can get when you’re new, the easier it’s going to be to get clients.

And I always recommend thinking of it as like a niche for now, it’s not a niche for the rest of your business. But it’s like, what’s a niche for now? What’s one offer that I can create for a really specific group of people solving a really specific problem that I can just get five people in the door for so I can actually start working with people and building my skills and making some money.

And then you work with those five or ten people and then you can rethink it and go, okay, well that worked or this felt good about it and this didn’t feel good, so maybe I’m going to go in this direction and then you can kind of, you know, like your niche is sort of like a road that’s always, always you’re always going down and it’s always lining.

Emily: For sure

Rebecca: Yeah.

Emily: I love that. I want everyone. I want you to be haunted by Rebecca’s voice, so say niche for now. Niche for now.

Rebecca: let’s haunting 😀

Emily: Perfect, it’s so perfect. And I also feel everybody literally screaming at our podcast right now, though. I know, but I don’t know what I want to do. I want to help all of the people. I don’t want to exclude people because then I can help people. And if I’m on a mission to help people and I exclude them, then I’m not actually helping them.

Rebecca: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, because when you try to help all the people, you have to take the language that would be really specific.

So we were just working with a client who wants to,  she’s a kind of a coach, spiritual counselor and she wants to work with people around self-doubt and like this feeling of unworthiness and so she’s talking about it out here with this really broad language of, like self-doubt, not feeling good enough without context. And when we gave it context, we’re like, okay, who has this problem? And she’s like, well, one group I see is spiritual practitioners and Reiki healers who have experienced this longstanding self-doubt. And it’s really getting in the way of their work, it’s getting in the way of their business, it’s getting in the way of them, like being able to actually do the work they want to do with their clients. Then it has context.

And so when you look at like. How easy it is for your brain to wrap itself around. Like anybody with self-doubt versus spiritual practitioners and energy healers who are experiencing this self-doubt and it’s getting in the way of their business. It’s so much easier. I just know who to send her, you know who to send to in the second group. But the first group, I’m like, I don’t know. Everyone kind of has self-doubt, but it’s there’s not a compelling enough reason or clarity and context around it for it to make sense.

Emily: Yeah.

Rebecca: So when you say broad like that, you know, to your point, you’re saying like, I want to help everybody. You actually don’t get to help any because nobody hires you. And then when you niche in, your people are like, Oh, shit, I know five Reiki healers who are super struggling with this. Let me send them to you. And then all of a sudden you get to actually work with people. So it’s super counterintuitive, but you get to work with more people when you are specific because people will actually hire you.

Emily: Right, exactly. And I think we have to work on our beliefs when you’re figuring out what your niche is. And I love again, I’m going to go back to the niche for now.

Rebecca: Niche for now! 🙂

Emily: because it just gives you permission to just be in this lane. And oftentimes I see clients who don’t stay in the lane long enough to see it play out. They’re like, I don’t know. I put out one post and nobody ever said it didn’t work. And it’s and I it’s just not no one’s responded didn’t work.

And actually in my practitioner training program. So I train people how to do energy-based training. But part of my certification is the business, it is the marketing, is the messaging, all of it into one certification. So it’s the first and only energy-based training with a profit guarantee because you’re doing the work literally within the program.

So people are making money in the program, they’re finishing the program with making money and they have all of this figured out versus most training to like get a certification. You’re like, great, let’s get in the certifications and get myself out there. But people end up collecting certifications because they’re still not niching down, they’re not finding who they’re serving.

And literally the practice sessions at my course that my students are doing within the first ten sessions, they are seeing a trend. They’re seeing, oh, these first ten sessions which are free. I’m attracting this type of person with this type of problem and this is the result I’m giving them.

Rebecca: Yeah.

Emily: And so they’re seen in black and white. They’re getting testimonials, they’re building their confidence from day one. And that’s part of the problem. And I love that you said, you know, get that money in fast, because when you don’t get that money in fast…

Rebecca: You quit.

Emily: All of us, you quit. And then you start thinking actually, in that process, whether it’s a month or a year or whatever that window is for you, your window of tolerance to take in, no money in is going to then force you to start using that plan B, like, well, if this doesn’t work out, then and I’d love to have this conversation because when we’re not fully 100% focused on that thing, we’re not 50-50. We’re now like diluting our energy towards building our business to probably like 20 to 30%.

And the rest of that, all of that energy is going into a waste bucket. It’s completely wasted. It’s completely it’s just it’s diluting your messaging, it’s diluting your energy. It’s taking you away from your focus. And it’s also putting out the message to the universe. No, thank you. Please don’t. I don’t want any of this business – pass, please…

Rebecca: Yeah.

Emily: It’s just, it’s doing the opposite of what you want it to do.

Rebecca: Yeah, because the longer that it doesn’t work, the more your brain is like, see, nobody wants what I have to sell. And then you continue to run your business from a place of, well, nobody really wants this. So then, you’re putting out messaging and offers with sort of an underlayer of like, well, no one really wants it. So I guess so and so and that shows through and then no one wants it for sure. It’s got this weird energy to it. And so it, yeah, it just doesn’t work. So money in the door faster and a niche for now is the fastest way to do that.

Emily: I love that. And also, you know, when we have that energy of like it’s not really working in our brain, it’s like looping and going, see, there’s evidence, it’s not working. Our energy is, it’s like coated with this layer of eeeeh. So no matter what we’re putting out there, whether it’s a post or a reel or email or a blog, it has that energy all over it. And you think that, oh, people can’t pick up on it because I did my hair and my makeup, so I look so good for this reel or for this live or whatever. But it’s all over your energy field and people can pick up on energy within 3 seconds of interacting with you. And so if they’re picking up on something, even though you think you’re masking it, you’re not…

Rebecca: Yeah

Emily: People can pick up on it.

Rebecca: Yeah. And I feel like you’re also just not as likely to even put things out there as many times as you need to when you’re convinced it’s not going to work. So like, you’ll put it out once and be like won’t sort of work anyway. So I’m not going to do five more posts about it. But if you had an excited energy about it, it was working. You’d be like, I love blossoms everywhere. I love it. People are coming in, it’s feeling good. And so you just don’t do you know, you don’t do the work that you need to do because you need exposure.

And I think people really underestimate how many times you need to put something out there before one person will say, yes, it’s not a tit for tat, it’s not I put out one post and I get one client and they put out one more post and I get one client. It’s like I put out 30 things and I got one client. And so you’re not even doing what you need to do if you’re in the energy of like, well, it’s not working anyway, so what’s the point?

Emily: Absolutely. And even to come back to that customer who was like, you didn’t get me results. When my team member looked at her Instagram page she had in the last six weeks, five posts, five total posts, none of which were anything that I’ve taught.  No call to actions, no offers, no who I am, what I do, nothing at all.

And so it’s like, okay, so you’re not actually to your point, like you’re not actually putting your best foot forward. You’re not doing many or if not anything, to put yourself out there in a way that’s really helpful to you.

So what are some ways that people can then they got their niche for now, they’ve got some money coming in, hopefully. What are some ways that you see people misusing social media that you want to help, help them to correct?

And I mean, I know what you’re saying about, you know, you expect of one for one return every time I go live, I should get a new client. So I’d love to hear your take on all that.

Rebecca: Yeah. And I so just to preface this by saying I don’t think that social media is bad and I don’t think that social media doesn’t work. But two things. So, one, I see a lot of people who are new because they’re told you got to be in social media. So the first thing they do is they go in, they start making reels and making images and quotes and like hashtags. And so they’re doing all the things, but they actually don’t even have clear messaging and they don’t have a clear audience that they’re talking to. So their stuff is kind of watered down.

Like I see a lot of I work with a lot of life coaches, so I use that example, but I see a lot of like, you know, a nice quote that they made in Canva that somebody else said, and they’re putting it on Instagram and I’m like, no one fucking care. Look, no one’s going to hire you because you put that or like, you know, them trying to do the thing where they’re like, okay, I’m going to share. I’m going to share what my business is about.

But they’re sharing like, you know, I work with anyone who’s feeling a little bit low or anyone who has self-doubt or anyone who just wants to feel more alive. Like it’s this really general. Nobody really, I call it like, this is like meme-worthy. Like it’s like worthy. Somebody might see it and be like, Yeah, that was inspiring. I’m going to give that a hard on Instagram, but like, no one’s paying you $1,000 for it.

So they’re trying to do all the strategies they’re learning, but they just don’t have enough clarity and specificity. So it’s kind of just missing the mark and no one’s really doing anything with it or I see people who just don’t want to be on social media. That’s kind of me, like they don’t want to be here. People love being on video and doing like the creative process of it I think is exciting for some business owners, so they kind of get lost in it even though they don’t have the clarity. But then for the other people, they just don’t want to do it and they hate it.

So whatever camp you’re in, I think, number one, if you’re going to be doing any marketing, I always think this and you probably teach this also, it’s like there’s a stage before marketing. You don’t just decide to have a business and then market your business. You decide to have a business and then you get really effing specific about what the business is and who you’re trying to talk to. And you do your market research and you make sure that you’re actually speaking to them in a way that makes sense to them and that you’re actually like hitting on the pain points that are compelling enough that they actually want to buy something from you. So you do all that foundational work before you start marketing anything. So if you want to be on social media, make sure you do that work first, because that’s the only way that any of the strategies that you’re using are going to work.

But I think I mean, there’s so many ways to get in front of other audiences that are not social media. So I personally think social media is great for networking and, you know, meeting people, not even meeting your clients, meeting other people that you could collaborate with or referral partners or just other people in the industry, like you have direct access to people’s inboxes, which is, you know, would have been unheard of ten years ago. Like you can just go and send a message to somebody, how are you going to have their email address? Right? So it just gives you that kind of in-person connection and that’s what I mostly use it for.

We have a team now that does our social media and we can talk a little bit about how I use it. My business is much different, though, than a brand new business who’s looking to just get some one on one clients in the door and start making money.

Yeah, the networking on it is great, but in terms of like content, I just think you just don’t know what the algorithms are doing and you have to put out so much content and like one piece of content is gone in 24 hours. If it’s a story or who knows how reels are getting repurposed. But most of the time you put all this energy in and people see it and then forget about it and it’s never to be seen again.

So I really like the strategy of getting in front of like borrowing other people’s audience is basically like, look at what we’re doing now, right? I don’t know how big your audience is. You have a whole lot of people listening. You have your whole social media following wherever your followings are. You’re going to post this and all your people are going to know who I am. And I have a large following. I have a Facebook group of 15,000 people. We have a big email list and I’m going to go share this podcast episode with them. And then all of a sudden they’re going to know who you are.

And so look at the impact of that, where we both have the same audience or similar audience. We do different things, but with a similar audience. And how much more impact this one hour of us chatting is going to have than like 50 reels I could put in on Instagram and, you know, it’s going to the right audience like it’s anyone could be seeing them, right?

So I love the idea of being able to get into tap into audiences that already exist, that are in your niche, (that’s why you need a niche for now) that are in your niche so that you can just do less work and have it have more of an impact.

Emily: Yeah, and I totally agree with you.

I love strategic collaborations, you know, and we can see there is a commonality or a similar interest or how could this person benefit my audience, How could I benefit their audience? Is there an angle that I bring that nobody else has brought? And I love these kinds of collaborations for that exact reason. I see the guests on my podcast that have the biggest reach, that have the most downloads tend to be people who are in that similar demographic. And likewise, if I’m a guest on their podcast or in their community, it’s the same way.

And we’ve had a couple of guests on the podcast repeatedly, whereas and also I’ve been a guest on other people’s platforms repeatedly because the audience just goes wild and they’re like, more of that, please. It’s like, you’re right, I could not make a single reel with that deep of an impact person.

As a podcaster, we’re in people’s ears and, you know, maybe they’re on a walk or they’re on a drive, but we have a lot of their attention for a pretty I mean, half an hour, hour long amount of time. And it’s so deep versus going out wide and trying to hit every single network and be on every single platform.

Rebecca: Yeah.

Emily: I wrote down a note to come back to this about the foundational work.

Rebecca: Yeah.

Emily: So you said around building that foundational work, really understanding what you’re doing in what kind of area, what the competition is like, all of that stuff. And I was just kind of like silently laughing to myself, like, nobody does this anymore.

So I’ve been in business since, well, for 23 years and I’ve been an energy practitioner that long. I started my first business when I was 22. And at 22, you know, we did for promotional material. We went on to our word doc and we made a little weird, you know, a flier, and I would put four on a page and I would take it to Staples and I have a printed and cut. Sometimes I wouldn’t have a cut because it was too expensive and I couldn’t afford that. And I would hand cut hundreds of fliers and I would take these fliers and put them on windshields and I would put them in coffee shops. And that’s the real thing, that’s a hot zone.

Eventually I got funds enough where I printed shiny postcards over nice and glossy, but I was in person like guerilla marketing, getting myself out there and not getting paid to do any of that, not having any kind of reach. There was no social media. I didn’t have a website and I was just hustling. I was doing free events and I was networking like everything I could do to just be in front of people. And even still I was discounting myself.

So all that to say is at that point when I was 22, I was also a college student and I wrote a business plan for my actual business that I was for like currently running. And I won the competition. And the reason why I won the competition is because I had done a business plan for my business. All I was doing was submitting it to this contest to win some money for my brand. And the funny part, funny part was that the prize money, I had business partners at the time who were very, very slow to understand business strategy. I will just say that. And I was arguing that we need to have a CRM. I want to get a way for us to get people’s email addresses in and do mass emails to them in a way that we can start tracking data and understand who our customers are. They’re like, we have Gmail. There is no need for any of that. And so I basically was like, listen, if I win this competition, this money is going towards this and I won. And so I got my way and I say, this is all like a funny back story for me for you. Maybe the listeners never knew that story about me.

But I think the funny thing is, it’s like back 20 plus years ago, you wouldn’t dream of starting a business without writing a business plan and doing market research, just like bare minimum. Like, who is out there? What are they doing? What are the prices? How do I set myself apart?

Nowadays, the barrier of entry is so low, like anyone can create an Instagram account, anyone can create a website anyone can do anything. And so you really don’t see people who are doing the research. So I found that really fascinating that you mentioned them.

Rebecca: Yeah. And I think it’s also most of the people that we both work with, coaches, healers start businesses because they feel called to do something. They’ve been usually they’ve been through some experience and they want to help other people with the same thing.

And so I actually just wrote a blog post about this, like, remember it was published or not, but about doing, starting a business basically for reasons that are too selfish. And so like we start our business and we make it all about us and it’s like, well, what I want to do and who do I want to help and how do I want to say it? And what do I think is a good way?

But like, none of that actually matters because you’re in a business to help other people. And so your experience of something is not necessarily the same as, you know, a mass of other people’s experience. And so you have to go and figure out like, is my idea of marketable? Like I have this idea, I want to do this thing. Like, do other people want this idea? Do people want to pay me for this thing?

And it’s a scary question to ask because sometimes the answer is no, or sometimes the answer is, well, maybe, but not in the way that I’m selling it or not in the way that I’m marketing it and describing it. And nobody wants to do that, right, because we hold our ideas really precious. And it’s like, this is the thing. And I’ve had the idea and I’ve journaled about it and meditated on it, and now I’m finally ready. And it’s like we just like almost want to put on the blinders and be like, I don’t care what anybody else says, but you have to care. Because those people are paying you so important. And it’s the best thing you can do. And it’s definitely the scariest thing you can do when you’re starting.

It’s much scarier than making a business card or a logo or getting some brand colors or an Instagram setup. But it’s like going out and actually figuring out, here’s this idea I have, does anyone want to see me for this? And if they don’t,

Emily: Right.

Rebecca: What do I need to shift? Is it the audience? Is it the messaging? Is it the actual idea? How do I need to shift so that people will pay me for it?

Emily: Yeah. Then this is great. It’s also, it’s built into my certification, my Integrated Energy Alignment Certification Practioner.

Rebecca: I think it  should be in every business,

Emily: everything…

Rebecca: It’s like, it’s hashtag strategy and like, oh, yeah, it’s not.

Emily: Here’s some great stock photos.

Rebecca: Yeah. And I think like I always describe it as like what I teach and it sounds like what you teach is like step one and a lot of courses that there are great courses, but they’re teaching you like steps 5 to 10. And so if you haven’t done steps 1 to 5, then those courses aren’t going to work.

And so I don’t I wonder if this happens with you, but I get a lot of students who come to me who are like, I’ve taken every program though, and so it’s a big name program. You probably know who she is taking that one, take that one. And like I’ve gotten nowhere and they’re like, at the end of the rope, they’re like, I have no more money to spend. This is like the last straw.

And it’s so when I look at the courses they’ve taken and what they’ve done, and then I look at their website or whatever they’ve got, I’m like, It’s so easy to see that like you jumped into the marketing in the steps 5 to 10 without the clarity on what the F you’re actually selling.

So like, all we need to do is access for this and then you can go and use those courses again. And yeah, people do, right hey go and they’re like, Oh my gosh, I could actually now use these five other courses that I wasn’t ready for when I took them the first time.

Emily: Right. Because they just had no foundation. You’re just trying to put bricks up in the windows. It and there’s nothing to hold.

Rebecca: Yeah. Like you don’t even know what you’re you can’t even articulate what you’re selling. Like, how are you supposed to build a whole website and marketing strategy around something that’s kind of elusive?

Emily: Yeah, and this always comes up with my certification students because so we for the first month, they do ten practice sessions for free. And you better believe they fill up like this. And also part of my promise is I take all of their booking links and I share them within my community of hundreds of people who want what they have to give to them. So it’s like it is… It’s like, would you like to just scoop up the people, like they’re there for you?

Rebecca: Yeah.

Emily: And like, listen, like when I was starting out, no one was offering me handouts for clients. I was hustling. And so, you know, those first ten sessions come real easily, while by month three I require them to start charging. And so this is when the real work happens.

I say you can have a sliding scale, but it has to be sort of between these two numbers. And some people are practitioners are coaches who’ve been at it for a really long time. So like they’ve been charging a bit more and it’s kind of like a little humble pie for them to drop their rates to do these, set the sessions at a lower rate.

And then there’s the brand new folks who are like, I’ve never charged anything in the day of my life and like, I’m freaking out right now. And so we have both camps that are kind of experiencing the same time.

But this is where the work, the work comes in so that they can, you know, try to, you know, share their links in the way that they are innately doing it. And then also there’s the course that says, okay, so these things work, these things don’t tend to work.

And in the process of, you know, trying to get their selves out there and market themselves, they’re making mistakes and so they can come into the group and go, I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I put out two posts, no one’s doing anything. And then we can look at and go, okay, well, first of all, you would have no contact information there.

Rebecca: Yeah

Emily: I don’t even know. First and foremost, I don’t even know what this thing is. No one’s going to know what an IEA session is, no one’s going to know what to expect. They don’t know who it’s for. They don’t know how long it is. They don’t even know like who you are.

And there are so many times that especially with coaches and healers, that their profile photos are like lotus flowers on top of it, you know, and it’s like, okay, hold on. You are a personal brand that you are hiding behind a lotus flower with a quote on it, like, how is somebody want to buy from you?

Rebecca: And I think what you’re speaking to is so important, I think, for people to realize, because imagine that we do the exact same thing in our program where we were like, go put the thing out and then let’s come back and see if it worked in the past, why it didn’t.

But imagine someone’s building their business like many people are without us, without that support. So then they’re putting stuff out there and it doesn’t work. And then immediately they’re like, I suck. Nobody wants it. I’m not good at this. I’m going to quit my business.

But how long are you going to last with putting stuff out that’s missing the basic information that if somebody else just looked at it, they’d be able to tell you like you’re going to 3 to 6 months is what I see before people are like, I gave up on my business. It didn’t it wasn’t really nobody wanted it. Right?

Emily: Right. Yeah.

Rebecca: Not that nobody wants it. So I think it’s important for people to realize that, number one, you have to be putting out way more than you realize, but you also need to have some feedback on it because you don’t know people, coaches, healers, you guys didn’t go into business like to become marketers.

Like it’s not your fault that you don’t know, but you just don’t know. And so you need eyeballs on it. You need eyeballs, that is huge when you’re new, it will save you from failing your business.

Emily: I agree. And yesterday one of the homework assignments was to partner up and do an audit of each other’s pages because there might be like if I was paired up with you and I was like, Listen, Rebecca, I have been posting so much. Nobody wants what I have. I’m about to quit. Everything is terrible. And like, obviously nobody wants what I have to sell. You come along and you’re like, all right, let me just take a little look, see, do so. And you go like.

Rebecca: All right, so you get it. Who is this for?

Emily: I’m confused about it. Who is it for? It’s very complicated. There’s too much text. There’s no pictures. I don’t know who you are. I have 100 more questions. And also you only post it twice. So maybe that’s part of it.

You know, like to be able to have somebody to support you when you feel like you’re doing everything wrong and then you internalize it. And also to have people to support you, to say, like as an outsider, because I’m not you, here’s what I have questions about. And if you can start to solve those questions, you would be surprised at how fast other things start to open up for you. And you know, no matter what I’m selling, there’s always going to be somebody who has some sort of objection or a question. And I’m like, Oh, thank you. Because I see, like, I’m too deep in it. And sometimes I miss those simple details like, well, what’s the call schedule? Or, you know, how many people are going to be in that program? It’s like, oh, right, right. Like, it’s just a detail that I didn’t list on my website. You know, these, these questions are such great opportunities.

Rebecca: Yeah. I think it takes when you’re new because we’ve been doing this for a long time, so we’re so used to hearing that and getting the feedback. But when you’re new, it’s like this idea that I talked about earlier of like we sometimes hold our ideas too preciously and it’s like, okay, I’m and I finally put up the thing and it’s like, we almost don’t want feedback on it because we don’t want to hear right. What’s wrong with it? We don’t want to hear what’s good. We’re going to get defensive about it. And so it takes a lot of vulnerability and it takes a lot of courage and it takes a lot of like desire to make your business work, to actually be able to do that and be like, okay.

And then to take the feedback. Because what I find and I did this when I was new and I see my students do it where people are like, I didn’t understand this and this was confusing. And then they like feel like, okay. And then they try to explain it to them. It’s like, you know, just maybe you just have that you have to change the way you’re talking about it over here. You have to justify why you wrote it that way. It doesn’t matter the way you wrote it doesn’t work. So like. draw up kind of the drama around, feeling defensive around the feedback we’re getting and be like, this is what the world is going to see. And these people, random people are telling me that it’s not clear. So like, doesn’t matter that I think it’s clear and I think it’s the best way to explain it. It’s not. So I need to change it.

Emily: Right

Rebecca: How to just get really, really good at being okay with that. It’s not no one saying your ideas shitty. They’re just saying that the way you’re articulating it in this way is not clear. And so we need to shift the way we do it. And when you can get really good at that and not take it personally and just go out, make the change, put it out again, get the feedback, make the change. When you can do that really, really fast, your business will grow so much faster.

Emily: Oh, for sure. Those are all,  and even, as you said, like those are all the star students who go, okay, got it. Thanks for the feedback. Let me work. And it might hurt a little bit. Like it’s not easy to take feedback sometimes, especially when you’re new. And then if you do take the feedback and you do something with it, you get those results.

And the other person that you’re describing who is getting defensive and explaining and pointing the fingers and blaming everybody else, those people are so you could feel the energy. It’s like their energy is closed off, it’s their way, it’s what they think it’s like.

Rebecca: They think, it’s my idea… Thinking about this idea for ten years.

Emily: Right? I feel like you are too, based on how you’re describing what you do with your students of like putting things in action really fast. Like we don’t spend a year thinking about it and like journaling on your knee and meditating on own and making to it

Make sure until it feels right that we’re going to put it out there. It’s like you get to like, this feels 50% good enough, and then you put it out the door and then you get the feedback and then you’re going to get to the final thing faster. And are like, okay, well, let me like really think about this for the next six months and journal on it.

Emily: Yeah,

Rebecca: Sure. It’s good before I put it out.

Emily: Yeah. Well,  so within my certification, there’s a certain number of required practice sessions and then there’s a certain number of required paid sessions. And then after another month or so, we require them to increase their prices. So they get to do all of this within the container, this like safe little haven. And we actually recently had a student who did eight of her, I want to say eight of her 50 practice sessions and expected to certify. And so it was one of those opportunities where…

Rebecca: Eight out of 5-0?

Emily: out of 5-0.

Rebecca: yeah 😀

Emily: And so it’s kind of like. So did you expect to not meet the requirements and still certify? I’m confused.

Rebecca: Yeah. Yeah. And you can’t. Yeah, you just can’t jump. You just can’t jump past the stepping stones, you know, it’s like…

Emily: Yeah.

Rebecca: And I think the other advice that I see given out there a lot, which is I think very harmful, is like this kind of fake til you make it and like you’re worth it. Charge premium rates. Like you got to just do it. And like I was writing, I think it was a blog post. I was doing some kind of content the other day where I was talking about this phenomenon where like coaches are new healers because we’re in this world, this kind of woo energy world where it’s all like, got to just go for it.

Like, you know, fake it till you make it and put yourself out there and just charge premium rates off of the but is such a mind fuck because your confidence isn’t there. And so and so like imagine saying that in the field of medicine and being like you know what you.

Know all the surgery hours, just like, get in there and own it. Like it’s not you can like you can’t fake your way to competence and you can make your way to confidence. And so you have to just put in the work to get really good at what you’re doing to build the confidence. And that’s how you’ll end up raising your rates and being able to really own it. But I just find that all that advice in this kind of spiritual world is so harmful.

Emily: Right, it is… I agree. And I think that’s partly why this is so integral into the program, is because you have to do the work to earn the thing. And that’s foundational for all businesses. There’s always going to be ups and downs. There’s always going to be challenges.

The ones who succeed, the ones who certify are saying, All right, that was super hard and I want to overcome this challenge, whether it’s pricing or changing my messaging or getting a survey back from my people are starting to really be visible and not worry about judgment so much. And, you know, the slight increase in price, like having to work through all of that stuff is the work. And for students who are ready to buckle up and show up and put in those hours, you’re going to get those results.

Rebecca: Yeah.

Emily: So that’s what’s really challenging. When you go, well, I’ll show up, half of I’ll show up 50% and expect 100%. I’ll just start my business. I just started my Facebook page and I’m going to charge a premium. I just am fresh out of the gates. Because like what, most likely no one’s going to buy it for me. We already know that, most likely no one’s going to buy it for me. What if one person does buy from you and now you have to deliver on this promise?

Rebecca: You’re going to be terrified.

Emily: Oh, what

Rebecca: Yeah.

Emily: The second is… like you’re going to self-sabotage or you’re going to try to overcompensate for your lack of experience of knowledge base. And I mean, the sad fact is that I’ve actually been in programs with like big-name people that overpromise and under-deliver as well, and they have that reputation. It’s like, how are they still in business? They keep promising, you moon, and they give you like two sorts of rarely okay things. It’s like, yeah, what? So this barrier of entry is so low.

And so I think what I’m also hearing you say around is that you teach about integrity and about really being committed to your craft and really being committed to the other people because it’s truly it is about being of service, helping other people. So you’ve got to get all the other stuff out of the way so you can really serve.

Rebecca: Yeah, yeah. I think it just happens to that way because so many people are coming into business because they’re fed up with their other job or they’re whatever, or they’re coming into programs like ours when they’ve tried everything else. So this is the last straw and they’re in like a desperation scarcity mode. And so they have like they don’t have any money left. They’ve put their job and it’s like, I need this to work now.

And so, the mindset coach that works on my program always says, like, your business is your baby and you need to feed your baby. Your baby can’t feed you. So like, don’t expect to make money from your business for the first six months to a year. Like you need to be putting in a lot of work to get the baby to grow, to be big enough that eventually, they’ll take care of you.

And so I always recommend having another job, another source of income, or a lot of savings if you’re going to be doing it, because you just can’t have that that pressure. A feeling of like this has to work right now because you just end up in places where you’re charging too much or you’re going in just with this energy of like feeling like you, you deserve that people should sign up with you and like, you don’t really deserve anything. You have to either work your way up to that. You have to earn it.

Emily: Yeah, yeah. And I love to pull back the curtain with my students, to see my business, to say like, you know, you know me as what you see of me online. And also here’s what it actually is really literally like right now. You know, even if I am bringing in a lot more money than what you’re at right now, I’m still facing challenges and obstacles and having to invest huge amounts of money, whether it be on team members or technology or, you know, if I’m pivoting our rent or are changing something, it’s like this is still happening.

It’s not just like, oh, goody. Like people have this image like, okay, six figures and then we’re free from any problems. And that’s never the case. Even at seven figures and beyond, it’s like you might think that it’s hard to hire your first assistant. Well, what about if you have a payroll of 50 people and it’s like $1,000,000 a month?

Rebecca: Yeah

Emily: Oh well, you think they have no problems.

Rebecca: I actually think you get those types of problems. Like, I’m a big fan because a lot of people I work with our coaches and so they come in and they’re like, I want to create programs and digital courses. And I’m like, no, you do not, because you don’t even understand the business model that that becomes. To do that, to sustain that and the team you need and the technology need, and the audience you need the simplest business model. If you just want a coach, if you’re in this to coach and not become a full-time marketer to coach one on one clients. Keep it really simple.

Have a part-time VA to help with some of the stuff and just you can make six figures and multiple six figures doing that and keep it real easy. Like, yeah, you could simple, I’ll tell you that the more you scale, the way more headaches and complications you have, and then the less you’re actually doing the healing work or the coaching work that you actually set out to do. The more you’re literally becoming a full-time worker, that is your job.

Emily: Oh, for sure. For sure.

Rebecca: Nobody wants to do that unless you’re a marketer with free hours and we love it. But most people, are not what they’re here to do.

Emily: Right. But I think that’s great advice because also you think I need to have a membership in a course and a thing to be successful, whereas I know plenty of coaches who are making bank, they have little to no overhead because they are just staying in that sweet spot of one on ones. And the longer they stay with one on ones, their premium goes higher and higher and higher because they can deliver those results easier and faster.

Rebecca: They get better selling their niche then so they can sell the crap out of it because they’ve done it a hundred times. And it’s just so simple. Yeah, I envy, I think about going back to those days sometimes, and then I’m like, oh, that’s nuts. I don’t like the marketing piece, but I definitely have had thoughts of like, Wouldn’t it be so much easier if I fired my whole team and I just like, took 1 to 1 clients? I would take home the same amount of money, no doubt. It’s just a different way to spend your time.

But yeah, I think it’s definitely something, you know, and you don’t think about it when you’re first starting, but anyone who’s like, jumping to like, I want to create courses like you probably don’t. So get your one-on-one rolling and see how that feels and then multiply that by like meeting 100 people. Like, you probably don’t want to do that.

Emily: Yeah, more people, more problems, let me just tell you.

Rebecca: Yeah.

Emily: And  I really, I really love that you can model that too, of saying starting with this one-on-one and staying there and building off it. I love to encourage my clients to master their one on one before they even do a group program. I think it’s another mistake I think a lot of newer entrepreneurs are making is going, I’m going to do a group coaching program for six weeks with 30 people. You’re like…

Rebecca: Like okay, so you where are you going to get the people? You can’t get one client because they think, well, it’s going to be cheaper, so it’s going to be easier. And I’m like, it’s just as hard to sell a group program cheaper as it is to sell one on one. So if you can’t get one client, how are you going to get 30?

And then also, if you haven’t done your process, how are you going to do it with 30 people? Because the shit that’s going to come up, you are going to have to have a lot of skills to manage and hold space for and coach through. And you don’t have those skills yet and you’re going to be like a deer in headlights on those calls, I can promise you.

Emily: Oh yeah.

Rebecca: I have a whole program called Create Your First Group Program. It is all about like moving from that one on one to groups that I love, group programs. It’s what helped me really grow my business. But it’s got to be done in the right order. You can’t just jump to that. There’s so many reasons. It’s just not going to work.

Emily: Oh, yeah. When I first started coaching, I started my business when I was 22. Well, I should say I was 18 when I started my first, like starting doing healing work. But when I was 22, I started my first business and then I shifted into I think I’m going to start coaching people, about eight years ago I was like how do I not heal? And what is a coach do? Like I was so confused, so I was like, I’m just going to stick with the singles for a little bit and get my footing. And I worked with the clients who had already been coming in and I asked them like, Is there anything that you’d like to do with me that you haven’t seen? And they said, Well, you know what, before the session starts, we do that kind of back and forth, like I would love to do more of that like so coaching.

So that’s how it just sort of naturally, organically evolved with people who I’d already been working with for some time, some of them like five, ten years. And so when I started to really see people one on one, then I could go, okay, I can do a group program with maybe like four people. Yeah, you think you can master the one-on-one? And then when you bring four different people and their dynamics and their life and then how they interact with each other, and then that interaction with you, it’s like you are, you are holding a whole different space.

And I think that’s why I caution people when they’re first out there of like just like it’s good to be aspirational or to see somebody else is doing it and how that’s really cool. And wouldn’t it be cool if I had recurring revenue with a membership or whatever it is that you’re thinking. But I love what you’re saying of like, really just stay in your lane, master what you’re doing and build that confidence.

This has been a really fun conversation and we’ve kind of like bounced around, but I feel like. We’ve touched a lot of different topics around, you know, what it is to build a business and some common mistakes that people are making. And you know how they can utilize their platform is maybe a little bit more strategically. Or even just realizing that niche for now, like, okay, I can just take that one piece and run with it so I know people are going to be really excited to hear from you outside of this podcast and connect with you. So what’s the best way for people to reach out and connect with you?

Rebecca: Yeah. Our website is The UncagedLife. We have a Facebook group called Uncaged Lifers that you can join. We are on social media that’s over at the UncagedLife. Come say hi and all those places we love sending, I love sending voice messages on Instagram, that’s one thing I love Instagram for like send me a message to Instagram. Emily: Hey, listeners, welcome back to the Alignment Unstoppable Podcast. I am joined by a very special guest, Kristin Dwan and I invited Kristin to be a guest on the podcast for a multitude of reasons, but primarily because I have shared on some previous episodes, actually one that had just come out in the beginning of April around doing shadow work and kind of like the behind the scenes conversation or what I’ve been going through with my business and sharing how I’ve really overcome some dark, deep, heavy feelings and the things that I have been doing to get me out of that funk.So one of the things that I’ve been practicing and experiencing is hypnotherapy. And so Kristin is my hypnotherapist. Is that the proper term for you?

Kristin: It is.

Emily: So I wanted to brag a little bit because I feel… I’ve been doing a lot of different things to benefit my health, my well-being, my mental status and, you know, supplements. I’ve been doing cold immersion and I’ve been doing hypnosis. And the hypnosis, I feel, has been helping me so much so that in one of our last sessions together, you brought out a piece of paper that a few months prior or like five weeks, I think it was five weeks prior, we were measuring, you were measuring things like how heavy do I feel, how much in the flow do I feel?

How financially solvent do I feel? How is fall do I feel? Like all these different things that word that I had said, but that you kind of gave back to me to say, let’s give a measure from a scale of 1 to 10, ten being amazing, awesome, one being not great at all.

And in five weeks, I mean, I had to do the math and I’m not much of a math gal, but the percentage increase was significant from like on most of them. I was like a 2 to an 8, 3 to a 9, like these crazy swings in the positive direction. And I was like, Kristin, please, can you send me this image? Because like, I need to show Amanda and show her like, this is such good work that we’ve been doing together. And here is the data. And I love as much as I’m a woo-woo and like, so spiritual, esoteric, I’m all about the energy. I also totally geek out about evidence-based practices and the science behind it. So that’s also another reason, not just because of my own personal positive experience with your work, but also because hypnosis has a lot of data and science backing up why it’s so effective.

So we’re definitely going to get into all that in this episode, but before we do, warm welcome, Kristin. I would love for you to just do an introduction of yourself and sort of what brought you to become a hypnotherapist and like, let’s share your background story.

Kristin: Wow! Oh, well, thank you so much for having me here. And you are amazing. Working with you is so beautiful because I’m not, you know, when we go into the realm of being a healer, it’s like, I’m not healing you, right? I don’t heal any of my thousands of clients. You guys are healing yourself. And what you do is you are open, you are doing the homework, you are really being receptive to it and your mind, your body, your spirit heals itself. So kudos to you, my friend.

Emily: High five! ?

Kristin: So yes, I am Kristin Dwan. I am a certified hypnotherapist. I’m a Reiki master teacher and I’m also a coach. And I started I mean, I can say I started in childhood because I have always been connected to the earth. And I played with fairies and I loved crystals and I started reading tarot at age 12. I’ve always been called to this work, but it was at 23 when I died and came back to life, was when my soul really signed the contract of this is what we’re doing.

Emily: Share a little bit about that, that experience?

Kristin: So as I said, I’ve always been very spiritual reading, tarot, doing, even doing energy work, you know, helping people. And as a child, I wanted to heal the world, like, that was my goal in life. And at 23, I was very angry. You know, I wanted to help people, but I really hated myself. I hated the world. I hated pretty much existing. And trigger warning, there were times in my teens where I wanted to kill myself. Right? A lot of deep dark depression there.

And at 23, I was kind of on a ledge. And what happened was I lit what’s called a road-opening candle. Some people know that is. And for those who don’t, it’s a candle that you burn when you want to get everything out of your way, that standing in the way of what you want in life. And so lit that road, opened our candle, and went to sleep. The next thing I know, my whole house is in flames. So obviously how I was living and how I was being in that house was getting in the way of where I am today, right?

Emily: Huh! wow, man. Oh. That just seemed like a shiver down my whole body. It’s like. Yeah, Wow.

Kristin: You got to be careful. What you ask for. For sure, you got to be careful what you ask for, right?

Emily: Yes. Yes.

Kristin: So I woke up. My house was, like, completely in flames. I had to literally run through a wall of flames to get out of my house alive. Through doing that, I got third-degree burns over 30% of my body, and I ended up in a burn ward. And it was there that I went through multiple skin grafting surgeries, and the first time they put me under my body reacted to whatever they used, and I literally died. That’s where I actually was clinically dead for a few seconds or minutes or whatever it was. And they resuscitated me. And I remember people always ask, Did you see the tunnel? Did you see the light? It wasn’t so much about what I was seeing. It was more about feeling that there was a decision made, like my soul was like, not done. Now I had to go back there again.

I remember hearing like them talking about me and blood pressure and this, that and the other. And then I felt myself hit my body. And that was when they woke me up. That was when they resuscitated me. And I can say that I know what death warmed over feels like because that was exactly what I was at that moment in time. And it took me days to really come back to feel, you know, as normal as you can feel with third-degree burns and a burn ward right?

Emily: Yeah. Yeah. Wow.

Kristin: Yeah. And so when that happened, it switched from like, oh my God, my house is gone and I’m in a burn ward, and what the hell did I do with my life, too? All right, I got some work to do. I’m here for a reason. And let’s get this let’s get this show on the road. I wanted to write a book. I wanted to start a band. I wanted to do, like, all these amazing things. And so I was telling my doctor that and he’s like, I’m really glad you’re happy to be alive, but you need to grow some skin before we can let you go.

Emily: So you can’t go out there?

Kristin: Yeah, I look like Freddy Krueger. Like literally, like all my arms, my hands, my feet and through my legs, you know, cause I was sleeping, I had no shoes on. It was summer when it happened. It was in August. So I was sleeping in, like, shorts and a T-shirt. Everything that wasn’t covered basically had some burns on them. So at that point was when I kind of hit the dark night of the soul. I was like, All right I chose to be okay, running through a wall of flames. I mean, alive, at least but not really okay.

I chose to come back after actually dying. And why did I choose this? Why did I choose to come back when all I’m going to do is be here in this hospital in huge amounts of pain, like third-degree burns are no joke. Even though I had liquid morphine going through my veins, it felt like there were hot irons everywhere there were burns.

Emily: Yeah.

Kristin: There’s the added pain. The first time they did the surgery on me, they did what’s called an autograph. And that’s where they took my good skin off, to put on my burns. So that I could be had in pain of being skinned alive like little.

Emily: Oh, God.

Kristin: So there were some,  there were some like, why did I come back for this?

Emily: Yeah, I would be questioning my decision at that point as well.

Kristin: Really higher self, like really? And so it was at that point that I just asked for help. I was like, I know I’m strong. I know that you gave this to me for a reason, but can you help a bitch out?

Emily: Yes, thank you, thank you.

Kristin: And at that point, I felt this suctioning happening on this in the middle of the night in the burn ward. I felt the suctioning happening on all my wounds, and I felt myself leaving my body. And for a moment, I was scared. I was like, well, I don’t mean like dying, like, it felt like I was literally, like being lifted out. And then I just, like, decided who to trust. And so my body went up to the ceiling, and I felt like I was in this warm embrace of the universe. It was the best feeling of ever felt. Plus, I was outside of that body, so I was not feeling that pain for the first long weeks.

Emily: Oh, sweet relief. Finally.

Kristin: And then there was the point where I started coming down and I was like, oh no! 😀 But what happened was I felt myself hit my body again. And there was like 90% of the pain was gone.

Emily: Wow.

Kristin: I’m still there right? I still looked like Freddy Krueger, but the pain was 90% gone. There was just like a little bit of that fire left that hit, you know, and I decided to, like, test out my body. I was like, let me walk to the bathroom and see what happens. And before it would take me like 10 minutes to go like three feet because it was just so painful. And I got up, I walked on those burnt feet and I looked in the mirror of the burn ward bathroom, little tiny. And by the way, you can’t shower when you’ve got burns like that. It takes about, you know, I don’t know, once a week where you can, like, wash your hair. I looked like crap, right? And it was the first time I looked into a mirror and saw beauty. And saw that fire in my eyes and really felt like a love for myself.

So whatever this energy was that took me and healed me, you know, it it not only healed my burns, my wounds, right, but it also healed my spirit, my emotions, like all of that stuff was like finally starting to love myself and look at myself in a way that you would if you actually, you know, liked who you were, you know? So with all that happening, I was like, what was that? Because this was before I knew what Reiki was. This was before I even, like could call, you know, people and like, send me some energy. It felt like this was sending this energy to me was literally something from, from spirit.

Emily: Yeah.

Kristin: So the doctor comes in a couple of days later, you know, and he’s like, wow, you’ve really turned a corner, you know, like your wounds are healing, your skin is starting to take these grafts and you know, you’re going to be out of here this week, whereas before it was like until your you start growing some skin, you might be here for a month. We don’t know. We just have to see how.

Emily: Wow.

Kristin: So when I got home, there was, you know, definitely I needed to do some physical therapy and like heal, but I was out. And so I started doing some research. And once I got a job and had some money again, you know, I went to all of the witchy stores around me. And this is before Google, right? This is before you say, like, energy work, find me one, right? You had to go out there and find it, right?

So I went to all the, you know, New Age stores and looked on their walls where people would like to post fliers and their cards and stuff like that. And I went to all the energy work. I went to crystal healers, angel healers, you know, shamans, you name it, I went to it. And that’s where I first read the word Reiki on the wall. And I was like, well since it’s energy at work, let me try it. And of all the different energy practitioners I went to, that was the closest to that, that spirit, you know, that experience I had in the burn ward. And so at that point, I knew it’s like my folks signed the contract, like I’m going to be I’m going to learn this, I’m going to become a Reiki master, I’m going to teach it. I’m going to write a book about it. I’m going to talk about it to anybody who will listen. And I continue to do that 25 years later.

Emily: Well, I mean, I think this also goes to show how you asked for help. I mean, you were at that breaking point yourself. You were in you in the hospital, you died, you came back with all the pain and you finally asked for help, you know. You went through so much already. And even, you know, even as you said, like, you know, you lit this candle to clear away the things that didn’t support you. It’s like your intention was exactly what you did get.

But I love how when you asked for help, it was shown it was given. And, you know, not only did your body start going into healing, but as you said, we looked into the mirror, you actually could see yourself for the first time and truly love yours. I mean that I feel like, beyond the physical like yay for skin growing, of course. But like, that is such a deep, deep change that, I mean, can take people lifetimes or sometimes you will never get to that place where they look in the mirror and love that image, looking back at them so profound. And so I know you wrote a book and you do share Reiki. And so talk about your book a little bit.

Kristin: So it’s called Baptism by Flame, because I truly believe that my life started after the fire, like before the fire, it was anger, rage, depression, self-hatred, like all the things, right?  And then the fire came in, burnt that all away. And I call it I was burnt alive, you know. I was literally burnt. Take taken through that. And then like the Phoenix-like actually got to where I was supposed to be this lifetime, right? And so when I first was writing the book and anybody who’s an author knows this, when you have the idea, I’m going to write a book and this is what it’s going to be about.

And then the book takes on a life of its own. So it was supposed to be just about the fire experience. And then it became, well, I’m bigger than that because I’m about your spiritual journey afterwards, meeting a living saint, starting a band, starting your business. Like starting a business is the hero’s journey. I mean, is it really is

So then the book became about, you know, the fire and then that spiritual journey afterwards. And the spiritual journey is not like a year, right? So my book spans about 10 to 15 years that I took to write this book. And then it’s told me, all right, I thought I was done. I was like, this book is finally done. Then it told me, well, I’m not just a memoir. I’m actually a tool for the reader to use to go on their own journey. You know, with fire without burning their house down like I did. So then it became at the end of each chapter there, there are guided meditations. There are things for you to do, there are exercises. There’s like an online kind of workbook, right? So finally, when it was released, it became this beautiful tool for the reader to have their own baptism by flame.

Emily: I love it. Well, I think too, what shows up because you are so lighthearted and obviously you’re laughing at this thing and how you look like death warmed over. It’s like it’s so easy for us to laugh at it when we have so much space, between when the thing happened and where we are today. And you can see that you were such a different person then than you are today at the time. Did you find your humor in those moments? Did you feel like it was laughable? This is so funny. I set my intention for burning and I literally burnt my house down, like was it? I mean, you have such a great, like outlook on it now, but in that timeframe, did that, is that how it felt for you or did you know? Yeah.

Kristin: So, I did have a good attitude though. You know, what’s funny is I got my first job in advertising because of this fire. Know before I was like a retail manager, you know, in a very different, like, career. And then, you know, the fire happened, and then it was like, you can’t stand on your feet for that long. You can’t go back to work. Right? So, I knew that I couldn’t go back to being a retail manager. And what was interesting was one of my best friends came to visit me and he brought his friend who worked in advertising. And so, yeah, I’m laying there with like, you know, looking like Freddy Krueger, and I’m just smiling. I’m not laughing at it, but I’m just like, I’m so excited to get out. I’m going to start my… I’m telling them all my ideas. And so this woman was like, have you ever worked in advertising? Do you need a job when you get out of here? Because she’s like, you’re just so positive and like, you just felt my spirit. And she’s like, I’m going to get you a job when you’re out. And that’s what started me on going from like an assistant to, you know, being a regional sales manager.

Emily: Wow!

Kristin: And it was a beautiful like I do feel that that part that was there to kind of like teach me put me into a boot camp of how to build my business, right? That I had to learn how to market. I had to learn how to, you know, have clients be happy and express myself. Right? So, there was I wish it didn’t take 15 years for me to you know, transfer from regional sales manager to owner of a business. But, you know, we’re always right on time. That’s what I did.

Emily: Yeah, I agree. And I think it’s funny because when people transition out of their corporate job into their own business, sometimes we look back and say things like, well, I regret it take so long, or I can’t believe I had to do that job. I see it the way you do is like it took the time it needed to take. You had to get that experience. You had to take that position so that you could learn these different things, so that you could apply it. And, you know, I feel like it’s taken me time to understand what makes me magical and what makes me a unicorn in a saturated market of coaches and healers and really own my gifts. And part of that is my experience through corporate and transitioning into following my passions. And just like you, we would have been like the best friends as 12-year-olds.

Oh my God, if we just live closer to each other because I was into the spiritual stuff and, you know, I was like, Oh, well, what’s the name of the boy you’ve got a crush on? Let’s go look up what his astrology is like, what’s – why?

And I think that when you have that natural inkling as a young kid, when it’s not really nurtured and appreciated and, you know, people are like, excited for you, it does kind of get muted out. But like, it’s so nice that you found your way back. You know, it’s like and I have young kids now and I’m like, watching what they’re interested in, watching what they’re excited about. And my oldest son actually talks about death quite a lot. And you know what happens when you die? And we had somebody close to us, a neighbor who he was particularly close with, who passed away about a year ago.

So we had a lot of different like rituals and ceremonies around, you know, death and dying. And these conversations he’s having dreams about. His like, Mom that’s so cool. He’s reconnecting with you, with your dreams, talk about it, you know. And like, we have this very open dialog, which makes my husband very uncomfortable because of his upbringing. And I’m like, this isn’t like a scary negative conversation. This is he has a connection. Let’s foster this connection and not like muted.

Oh, so I feel like people like you and me like we found that part of ourselves as a young kid, young teen. And then we took it like a different route but came back to that place. And I love that you have always had this desire to help heal the world. I think that’s a really beautiful, beautiful dream and goal and a place to aspire to be like.

I feel like a lot of my audience is in the same exact position. Like, you know, they know that they’re here to help a lot of people. And the problem is that but how do I do that? And so, you know, for me, it took me hitting rock bottom before I started to actually use my intuition and follow that and apply it to my business. I had never done that before I hit rock bottom. And I say this in my workshops, like, by the way, you don’t have to hit total rock bottom to start doing this. You can do it, now!

But I’m curious for you, what was the transition for you when you decided, I’m done with the corporate, I’m going into more of my own business, my own healing work. Was it like a gradual, did you do like weekends? Did you was – how is that transition for you?

Kristin: Wow. So this is why I call it the hero’s journey, because I was making lots of money as a regional sales manager, and I was doing something that I had zero like sole love for what, I was buying and selling commercial airtime for TV. I don’t even, like own a TV, right?

Emily: But you know how to sell the shit out of it, don’t you?

Kristin: No, and I always did it on the side, right? So I didn’t, like, quit one and then start the other. I never you know, I have a business coach for healers, too, so I never tell them like, oh, just quit your job. It’ll be fine. You know from 9 to 5 ish it’s, you know, I worked my desk at in advertising, and then evenings and weekends, the healing woods started to grow. And then I was also in a band. So then from, like, you know, 9 until 2 in the morning, sometimes I’m out there with the band. So I had a huge schedule, right?

Emily: So like, hold on, what did you do in the band? Are you a singer? Are you a musician? What do you, sing?

Kristin: yeah, I’m a singer.

Emily: Of course you are.

Kristin: And I love that I use my voice in many different ways, right? The book is using my voice. The hypnotherapy is using my voice. The singing is using my voice, like my voice has always been. I’ve been in choirs since I was in second grade.

Emily: Yeah. And you do have a great voice. And by the way, I will mention it later, but there is going to be a special gift download for podcast listeners that you’ll be able to experience Kristin’s hypnosis. Anyway, let’s go back to the story. Sorry to interrupt.

Kristin: No worries. So yeah, it was a big full schedule and there was a point where I was like, all right, I’m starting to get more confidence with the Healing Woods because people are saying that they’re feeling amazing that I’m not just working on friends. I opened myself up to, you know, people who I didn’t know. So then it became, well, I have to start closing my door to take healing with clients, right? Like just to like book and all that kind of stuff. I closed my office door at work, but then it became it started to do this and I was like, oh, okay universe, I see you and I’m open to this. Let’s make this happen. My monkey mind, though, was like, I’m going to save money. I’m going to keep this corporate job for as long as I can until I decide that I’m going to transition over. And the universe is like, no bitch.

Emily: Like, I know where this is going.  You’re just like, oh, that’s a cue. You are going to control everything.

Kristin: Right? But I… and I had that confidence, so it was just more like I wanted to save money before doing it right. And then it was interesting like I had I had a lot of debt from the fire, obviously. Right. I had to, like, totally rebuy a whole house and all those clothes and, you know, medical bills. And so I finally, like paid my last portion of that debt. And then I was like, all right, I’m going to give myself like 3 to 6 months to, like, save before I say peace, you know, then the universe is like, you’re ready. And I remember I had this dream. And it was like my guides telling me, you know, you sitting at that desk is doing nothing for the world. Literally, anybody can sit at that desk and do what you do. Not everybody can do what you’re doing in this room, right?

Emily: Yeah.

Kristin: I was like, all right, I get it. I’ll do it sooner. That morning, that morning I walk into work and they call me and they’re like, we’re so sorry. You know, I worked at an advertising agency at that point, and they’re like, we’re so sorry. You know, we lost a big client and, you know, it’s not your work or blah blah blah. And I’m just smiling and…

Emily: Like, here it comes! 😀

Kristin: And I didn’t know what came over me, but I was just like, right on, like, I knew. And they’re like, okay, here’s your severance. They gave me an awesome severance and I got unemployment and I took all their money to build the business, right? And that was 11 years ago now. And 11 years ago the Healing Woods was going strong.

Emily: Wow. Wow. That is so, you know, like, I think that’s the funny part when you are so connected and so instinct, you know, people can see, like when you’re out of alignment, you see those things happen and you’re like, oh my God. But when you’re aligned and you have had these conversations as your higher self with your spirit team and you’re like, listen, here’s my intention. And then you have that kind of prophetic dream. It’s kind of obvious at this point, you know, where you’re like, here I go. It’s like 10 minutes till the day like, you know, it’s going to come. It’s inevitable.

And so when we see synchronicities, it’s not like, Oh my God, that’s so weird. It’s just what is, and you can see it as such a gift. And I think what’s funny is when people have told me that they’ve gotten laid off like that, so good. Congratulations. And they’re like, you’re supposed to be like morning or like, sad for me or some shit. I am always so excited. I’m like, well, you obviously co-created this, this is exciting. What are you going to do, you know?

And I and I love that you had already preemptively like you knew that it was coming. It was just a matter of when. And I love that it was able to really get you in that catalyst to go all in. I mean, that’s beautiful. My catalyst for leaving corporate for good was, I was working as an executive assistant in corporate at a bank, and I was just basically a glorified babysitter to very rich people, rich guys specifically. And it was fine. But again, just like you soul-sucking, and I was like, why am I even here? I was still doing massage and teaching yoga on the side, and I was just kind of actually I wasn’t teaching yoga at that time. I was still doing massage and energy healing at the time on the side. And my unit, you know, that I was we were building within this big bank. It got shut down. Everybody got laid off, which I also was very excited to be laid off and get a severance.

And the institution that I was working for that laid me off also hired me in a different unit. So I got my severance. I got paid out my second vacation time, and I also had a job lined up in like two weeks. It was the strangest, like occurrence of timing. And as that was happening, I took this job and the people sucks. Like the people who I used to work for. I could actually like they were fine. These other people, it was like such a hard know that I didn’t want to work for them anymore. And it was a beautiful kind of leaving of the company into I was like, I don’t even care that I’m taking a pay cut. I’m going to go to work. I actually worked in retail women’s apparel which was like sporty and woo-woo, but it got me back into networking with people who are more spiritual. And because of that, it opened me up to then getting the yoga certification and then just being like, wait a minute, I’m so low right now that I could literally see like six clients a week and make the same amount of money that I work in my 45 hour week job. Like, this is so stupid. And it was another easy choice. So it was a slow, easy, gradual progression.

But it’s like we really do need to be clear with our intentions, with what we’re asking for. So especially for folks who are still in a corporate job figuring it out, you need to decide what you want. And I loved Danielle Laporte’s Book around The Desire Map of like, what is it that you want? How do you want to feel? And those kinds of questions started to help me to determine like, what is it that I truly want on a deeper level? So I think what’s interesting is how like, how then what brought you into doing hypnosis?

Kristin: Yeah. So, within the Healing Woods. I only offer modalities that have really saved my life. So Reiki, you know, we heard that story then, you know, around. And I had always like, dabbled in hypnosis, like receiving hypnosis here and there. And I really started to, like, just know that that was the next step for the Healing Woods, because I wanted to help clients in a subconscious way, not just energetic, not just, you know, feeling good and happy. It’s like, I know that there is a lot of deep shadow work that you can do within the subconscious mind because it’s 88% of our brainpower. And so I was tired of just dealing with the 12%. I’m always like, go deeper, go home like that. That’s the way I’ve always been. So I’m like, okay, let’s go deeper.

And so I decided to, you know, go to Hypnotherapy College. I did a full like two-year course and I did all of it. I did an LP, I did imagery, and I just did it all at once. And the school was like, you know, people usually don’t do this much. I’m like, go deeper, go home. That’s who I am. Like, I had, I think, 2500 hours of training.

Emily: Oh, well.

Kristin: Normally you just need to have like a thousand to like…

Emily: Oh, my God.

Kristin: You know?

Emily: Well, what’s interesting that you say that I’m curious what your opinion is on this, because I because I talk to coaches and healers and other kinds of practitioners pretty much exclusively. I get served ads for a lot of the things that I talk about. So I’ve recently been scoffing in really my eyes at the different ads that are like, speed up your hypnosis training, getting trained in like 13 minutes or whatever they’re selling. You know, it’s like, I mean, I know how I feel about some of these trainings, but I’m curious, like as somebody who’s gotten over 2000 hours of training, what do you feel like that does to the industry? And, you know.

Kristin: It’s great for that person to make money is all it is. It’s not going to give the person getting that 13 minutes of even a weekend. You know, I’ve seen like hypnosis training in a week. And like, the mind is so complex and this is such an important thing that clients are allowing you access to, that you want to make sure that person who’s calling themselves a certified hypnotherapist knows exactly what they’re doing and how to help you and not like lead you to either you know, there’s not much that people can do to hurt you necessarily, but if they’re charging a big amount of money and they’re just kind of like, you know, talking bullshit to you while you’re laying there, you’re wasting money on that. Like, that’s not actually creating transformation and change that hypnotherapy is scientifically proven to do when it’s done, right?

Emily: Yeah, Yeah. So, I mean, I feel like it’s one of those things it’s out of integrity to the actual healing art and to the, the data that has been proven scientifically for a really long time. And I think that goes for all modalities. You know, I have a modality that I teach and I certify people through. It’s a six-month training. And my training, the Integrated Energy Alignment Practitioner Training does have a guarantee to help you become profitable. And I build that in because there’s all a lot of like what to your point of like weekend trainings that you don’t get everything you need in order to have a successful business.

You may be able to check the box that you completed the training, but like what did you get and how can you apply that to real people in the real world? And, you know, I think with online courses it’s like there’s a lot of good that can come with like speeding up your education and being able to access a lot of people’s wisdom in a short window of time. We’ve seen the statistics that most people actually don’t complete their online courses, but that’s also how what I do is change in the industry, and it’s interesting to see our completion rates. But people show up and they’re like, okay, I’m ready to do the work, but really they’re not ready to do the work. And that doesn’t mean they’re bad people. It just means the level of integrity and how serious you take yourself in your career as you have done.

So clearly, Kristin is like you want to dedicate everything to it. You want to go deep. You want to immerse yourself in becoming the best practitioner. And that’s also what I’m here to create, which I find people are not used to that. They’re kind of used to like, you know, sign up for the thing, show up when you can. That’s okay if you don’t do it, that doesn’t fly with what I teach and it’s a good thing. And I really am proud of like myself and my team that we’ve set the bar so high for practitioners. And it also does shake things up a little bit. It’s hard to be a disruptor of an industry of people who are like, we could kind of like check the boxes. It doesn’t really matter if you do it or not. Who cares?

But what I really love about what you’re saying is you take yourself and your practice very seriously and you’ve made it dedication that it is part of who you are as a person. It is a life. It’s like you are. You are making it into something so robust. And I really, I feel that with our sessions, you know, I think that’s one of the first thing I said to them. Like, I really appreciate the space that you hold for me. And I think as other practitioners who are listening to this, I think that’s what’s spectacular about working with somebody like Kristin who can hold the space. They are so present, they can hold the space on such a deep, energetic level that you can have incredible transformations.

If people like I mean, maybe this is like a good time to like check like the practitioners you are looking at investing in and like, do they have what? Like are we comparing apples to apples. I know people do that to me all the time. Like I’m thinking about your program and I’m also thinking about this piece of shit one. I’m like, Oh, okay, you know, was I was like, let’s just compare apples to apples. Because I think it’s really easy, especially in this online age, where, like I used to be the person on the corkboard with my fliers and like, that was the way I would get. Just like you found all these different practitioners. Now, our corkboard is social media and you know, whatever you decide to put on your website that you call the truth. So I think it really is great to see somebody like you who is so committed to your craft and who is so able to convey that effectively and hold this space in such a significant way. So I think I attribute that to your life experience, but also the training and how deep you went with it too.

Kristin: Yeah, well, it was interesting because, you know, again, the universe steps in and so literally the week that I started my hypnosis training, I also got a cancer diagnosis.

Emily: Oh, Jesus.

Kristin: And so the school was like, all right, well, you need to do what you need to do. I’m like, what do you mean? I’m just letting you know I might not be able to make a class or two, but I’m continuing my training because I knew that I was supposed to use the tools that I learned within hypnotherapy to get me through the cancer journey. And I’m 100% fine. I’m cancer free. I’m good.

Emily: Right.

Kristin: It was very, very scary, right? But I learned these beautiful ways in which you can tell the body exactly what you want it to do. The brain, the subconscious controls what’s happening within the body right? And so when you have 100% control over your own brain, whatever the doctors are telling you, it’s like, that’s cool. That’s a good story. But I know what’s happening with my body. I did the same thing within the fire too, but just through Reiki and through my own visioning, you know, they were telling me I may not be able to walk again, this, that, and the other.

There’s been so many different, as a healer, I have gone through so many different just… We’ll call them lessons in life where, you know I’ve had six surgeries like crazy has happened to me, accidents, you know, all this stuff. And I always focus on what I want and my body reacts. And even though the doctor will tell me it’s an 80% chance that this is going to happen, I’m like, I’m going to be at the 20%. Just watch me.

Emily: Yes.

Kristin: So with hypnotherapy, what I was able to do is turn things around on such of amazing physical level, right? The Reiki like, helped me emotionally and energetically. And then the hypnotherapy, once I got my mind 100% on what I wanted, I lost 160 pounds after my journey. And I had uterine cancer, so they had to completely take everything out. And then they told me, well, you know, while we’re in there, we might as well give you a lap band because, you know, you need to lose weight and there’s no way that you’re going to be able to lose weight because you don’t have a uterus now, right? And I was like. You just watch me.

Emily: Wow, wow…

Kristin: I’ll be like, I really just went deep. And it’s not just about food and exercise, you know, especially with me. What happened with me was it was emotional eating. And I learned that when I was eight years old, when my subconscious was being formed and I learned at eight years old, I don’t have any control over anything going on in my life. My dad’s an alcoholic. He’s leaving. My mom’s pissed off. She’s taking it out on me. The only thing I had control over was I’m going to make myself feel better with cake, right? Or whatever. A cookie. And so that brought me to being severely overweight. Right. And then I finally decided, I’m going to use this 2500 hours of, you know, training that I have to not only help others but, like, it’s time for me to help me. Right. And here does that like it comes into your life and it’s like, that’s cute that you want to heal the world, but why don’t you try healing yourself?

Emily: Yeah. Yeah. So I want to come back to what you said, because and it’s is not to pooh-pooh the medical industry. There’s definitely a place for Western medicine, especially when you need to grow skin and etc. But when you say because I want to come back so people can really hear it again around how you got that 100% of your mind in control. So a lot of people are in my, you know, community are like, listen, I’m not making the money. I want to join your program, but I don’t have the money. And they aspire to help more people. They aspire to make more money. But here and now, I’m not making any money and there’s nothing I can really do about it. Nothing can actually help me.

So what your diagnosis said is like, here, the odds are stacked against you. It’s not looking very good. You saying, actually, this is what’s going to go down, watch me and it fully happens. How do you do this? Like, this is the magic pill that everybody is looking for, right? Like, how do you get your brain to cooperate? Because in any cancer diagnosis, there’s fear, there’s worry, anxiety. You start to future cast, like, oh my God, all the things and the people, all,   you’re a student. Like, there are so many things like swirling and spiraling around you. A cancer diagnosis can be one of those things that can break people down and go, okay, I’m going to be that statistic, so why not you? How did you get to this place?

Kristin: So, you know for the people who are saying, you know, I’m broke, I don’t have money. Your mind is listening to you and it’s going to react. And your body, you know, if you say like, oh, I’m always tired, I’m always sick, you know, your experience in life, you know, you know, men are bad. And it’s like your subconscious mind is the record player that is constantly feeding back to you what you’re thinking. And so consciously right, our conscious mind is 12% of our brain power. So that 88% is constantly playing the shit back to you where, you know, I want to work on myself, I want to build a good business, I want to lose weight, right? Like all that 12% is there. And, you know, the conscious mind is where you make your decisions, where you analyze your willpower, right. Like the things that you’re consciously doing in life. Your habits, your emotions. You know, your inner beliefs are in that 88%.

So let’s say like with my weight loss, right? So 12% of my mind was like, God dammit, I’m going to lose some weight. I’m going to like, eat the things I’m supposed to eat, I’m going to exercise, I’m going to do all the things that 88% of my mind was like, yeah, but I mean, what do you do? And because you know that it makes you feel good and life is hard enough, why don’t you just eat, you know? Because that’s what you know. You know. And willpower is I’m going to do these things. I’m not going to eat that. And then something emotional happens, a loss, you know, something disrupts, you know, life, which has happened a lot in the last few years, right. That’s when that subconscious comes in to save the day, because your subconscious I don’t want to paint a picture of it being like against you necessarily. It’s just there to keep you alive.

Emily: Yeah.

Kristin: The subconscious mind is helping your eyes blink, helping you take that next breath, helping your blood flow. It’s doing all these things that we don’t even think about. So when it starts to hear the destructive chatter from your conscious mind, like, we’re going to change it and it’s going to be great. It’s like, No, let me keep you alive. Let’s, let’s, let’s just nix that right now. So what I had to do, I didn’t start with diet and exercise because, you know, at the weight, I was like 400 pounds. I couldn’t do any of that. Like I was in complete and utter pain. So what I started with was healing the inner child, going deep into the shadow work like the emotional healing and then changing the food. I couldn’t even, like, do exercises at that point.

So what I did was I changed my food intake and worked, you know, subconsciously on that to let my body know you don’t need to be hungry. You don’t need to, you know, go for the cake or the wine. When something emotional happens, you drink water, you know, whatever, like I switched, you know, the script inside the subconscious. Then the weight started to come off. And then, you know, after 50 pounds of weight loss without one bit of exercise, then I went into the pool and now I’m able to hike up a mountain and back with, you know, ten miles.

Emily: Oh, my God.

Kristin: It’s a slow right like weight loss. I am a poster child of hypnosis working for weight loss. And I’m the first one to say it’s not like a one-shot deal. You know, like, we’re going to be working together quite a bit within weight loss, especially emotional eating, because we can’t just like, you know, doing some hypnosis around eating and exercise is like when you’re weeding a garden instead of pulling it out by the roots, you’re just cutting it back, right?

Emily: Yes, they do. Well, it’s interesting you said because a couple of years ago I was doing this like Whole 30 challenge and my dog passed away right in the middle of my challenge and talk about like emotional triggers, everything. It was like there was a billboard just like pulling in my face like, you should also eat more cake. You love cake. And it was so glaringly obvious.

When my emotions are in this state, what foods do I typically go to comfort myself with? And I mean, we’re always self-regulating, doesn’t matter what. But I think that part of that, that trigger of when my dog had passed, it was like, wow, okay, so I see this and it gave me an opportunity to sit with that. And, you know, because I was choosing to stick with this diet plan that was choosing to stick with this until the 30 days. If not, actually, I did a bit longer, but I wanted to just sit with that emotion and to sort of see what it was trying to tell me. And I felt like the gift was I was doing this type of diet that I wasn’t allowed. I was restricting that food. I was just fully saying, okay, well, let me instead of eating this, I’m going to just see what this emotion is.

And I find that sometimes even just bringing awareness to those choices, when you can start to kind of look at it from that perspective, like what hypnosis has done to you, just to, especially around food, it sounds like is it’s like let’s bring you back to where this has started, to that inner child that needed nurturing and needed to feel loved and needed to feel connected and that sweetness.

And, you know, it’s also not as I remember when I was in yoga teacher training, we were talking about emotional eating and talking about how when we celebrate something good happening to us, what do we do? We drink and we eat cake. And then we eat all the fatty foods, right? And then when we’re sad, what do we do? We drink it, we eat all the things. So it’s like we’re trying to find that state that we found when we were in a positive mood, in a good place and, you know, recreate it. So, of course, it seems so obvious how we developed these patterns. But I was listening to a podcast yesterday with Dave Asprey talking about why biohacking is great for lazy people and actually why we’re all like innately lazy. Like biohacking isn’t doing more things, it’s actually doing less things, but doing the right things in the right order, at the right times. And what you’re kind of speaking to is also the fact that you know, you can regulate in different ways using different tools. And not everybody is just as one size.

And, you know, I think for you to also advocate to your doctor that, no, I’m not going to have a loud band while you’re just in there tidying up, like because that’s what the medical industry really does. I mean, I had a friend who just told me yesterday her husband had a gallbladder attack and like, we should take it out. He’s like, don’t take out my gallbladder, you know. Just sign this paper just real quick. And he’s like, what does this do? Like just to take out your gallbladder. He’s like, NO, you can’t take my gallbladder. So that being said, it’s like you’ve made conscious choices that might not have been the easiest choices, and part of the easier choice would have been like, Yeah, do the lap band while you’re in there tidying up, you made a harder choice.

And I also think that that goes to like speak for the person that you are making the harder choice, you know, your resilience. Most people don’t take harder choices. We tend to move toward pleasure versus pain. That must have been a hard choice to make. Did it feel like a hard choice?

Kristin: I mean, yeah, there was part of me that was like, Oh my God, is this the sign? Am I supposed to do it? And then there was, you know, I did some meditation around it, did some Reiki on myself, and I just you know, because here’s the thing about the Lap-Band or any other type of sleeve or the surgery that you can eat yourself out of those so easily.

It’s like weirdness in your body and you’re not sure what’s going to happen when you’re 80 or whatever, you know. So I was like the kind of person I am. I take what the doctors say as almost like a challenge. And I’m like, all right, I’m going to give myself a year and I’m going to, you know, figure this out. Like and if I can’t lose the weight because, yeah, I didn’t want to be 400 pounds forever either, right? Like, I was in pain. I couldn’t really do anything physically, you know, emotionally, you know, all of that. So I gave myself a year and one thing about me is with using hypnosis, 100% of my mind was focused on that.

Emily: Yeah.

Kristin: And when I make a decision to do something, God damn it, I do it. And so a year later, and I had lost, like 100 pounds or whatever it was, I was like, all right, there is no doctor who is going to ever tell me that I need to have this, this, this done, you know? And I’m still on the weight loss journey. I still have probably about 50 pounds I want to lose to be at my goal weight. And really, it’s not even about a number for me. I’ve given up on, you know, the thing like this is where I know that I am successful, like a nine-and-a-half mile hike up and down a mountain. I’m successful.

Emily: Yeah, I’d say so. So, I mean, are you still using hypnosis for yourself? What ways do you use it? Yeah.

Kristin: I will never stop using just like Reiki. I will Reiki myself to my dying breath.

Emily: Yeah.

Kristin: I will. Because it’s just so easy. You just connect yourself to the universe. And I’ve actually been a death doula and people pass within Reiki and it’s such a beautiful experience that that’s what I’m going to do for myself when I die. And also, yeah, hypnotherapy, like things are always going to come up, right? Like, yes, I’m well in, my weight loss journey. I don’t need to really focus on that too much anymore. But it always comes up like, you know, they always say another level another devil, right? So it’s like you get to a point where it’s like, I’m going to be seen by 2000 people and doing what I call a bullshit bonfire, right?

Emily: oh yeah.

Kristin: Let’s work on some of that like being able to express myself and feel that confidence and not care about 2000 people watching me, right? So there’s always like as you uplevel in life, there’s always going to be things to, to focus on. So yeah, I’m constantly working on myself and I love it.

Emily: Yeah, I do too. And I think this is also the evidence. That’s how I like to reframe it. Maybe that’s just me being like me, But you know, I like to reframe our challenges as the evidence of your growth, the evidence that you’re doing the work when you know, you just start hypnotherapy school and you get a cancer diagnosis like that to me is like, that’s the evidence that you’re doing the work. It’s like things are being disruptive, things are changing so that you can go on this ascension path and not everybody sees things that way.

You know, I actually did have a student through my practitioner training.  She ended up being hospitalized with this like virus thing that happened is like one month into the training. And I was like, I’m sorry, but she’s coming back in July to actually do the full training. But it’s like I tell them in their Welcome Call, like, it’s not going to be a surprise to me when shit hits the fan, whether it’s your physical health, your family, relationships, work, whatever it is, it’s going to come up. It’s going to come up by design because you are up-leveling in different ways. And I also see that for myself.

It’s like, you know, when I had my recent, you know, Dark Night of the Soul, when I was kind of in this deep funk, you know, every single day when I was working, like I might have been down on some days, but I was never out. There was always this part of me that just said, Yeah, that sucks, but like, there’s not an alternative. So like, you’re going to make a difference in the world one way or another. Like, maybe today sucks though. And I think that where a lot of my community gets is like, we get to this. Like, do I have a plan B? Do I do this, do I do that, do I do this?

And I feel like that’s like literally the worst thing that you can do and it’s because you’re spending so much this energy in between. And I would love to hear your take as a like somebody who works on brain base. Like when you’re having like do I do my soul’s purpose, like follow my passion or do I become a barista like what… I always like the way my mind sees it or like I’m very clairvoyant. It’s like where I see it is like instead of having like 100 units of energy to put towards like one direction, it’s like you have 80 units of energy that you’re just throwing into the wind and like nothing gets anything out. Like your plan A or B don’t get anything for energy.  So I’m curious what your take is on that.

Kristin: So yeah, I always like a garden hose, right? And we’ve got this garden that we want to, like, plant these beautiful things into. And your energy, your focus, your time, it to water, right? And it’s like shooting water at your garden, but there’s holes. And so the water’s kind of going all over the place except for where you want it to be.

And I wanted to talk a little bit about the darkness, right? Like the dark places, because I am not… I work in the dark. I mean, I’m a shadow work, and that’s what I call it. Your power resides in those dark places. So when something shitty happens to me as a lot of things have, I, I immediately like, you know, feel the pain, feel the grief or whatever I need to feel around what happened. And then I’m like, all right, and what is this opening up for me, right? And so that’s where the strength, the power, the transformation, like, you know, things that are planted in the dark, in the soil, it needs the dark in order to start to erupt and grow and root and blossom. And so all those beautiful flowers that we’re seeing now in spring. It started in the pure darkness of the soil.

Emily: Yes.

Kristin: I just see myself as being planted. And I, you know, put that energy towards that beautiful bloom that I want to say in the old days, weeks, whatever, you know.

Emily: I love that. I love that. And, you know, I think that to that point, too, I don’t shy away from it either, because I’ve also been through enough of them to go like, it’s not going to be this bad forever. Like back when I was like maybe 20, I was like, it’s never going to end. I’m going to be in this place forever, an eternity. But I’ve come out so many times. And at this point, because I’m in my zone as a teacher and as a leader, I can see how my journey has then benefited to teach other people on a similar path, to say, well, this is how I did it, and it’d be very beneficial. And so while I’m very consciously aware of like one day you’ll laugh about this and you’ll teach about this. It’s still like, well. But I’m just also here to.

Anyway, I could probably continue talking to you indefinitely, and I’m sure the listeners are enjoying this conversation. Of course, sharing your story was so, so beautiful and very vulnerable to share. I’m sure people could hear themselves in some of your story as well, but also to just, you know, be able to be somebody who has lived through all of this and is shining your light so beautifully and helping so many people.

And, you know, I was gifted when I asked again, I asked for help from one of my friends from my psychic friends network, I like to say, which is basically all my friends at this point. I asked my friend, hey, you know, do you know anybody? I’m looking for a practitioner, a therapist, coach, whatever, what do you talk to, what do you do? And she recommended you. And so I feel like this is me paying it forward to my listeners can say, well, if you’re having a darkened soul and you’re in that dark place in your soil journey, in your seedling journey, reach out to Kristin. You know, I personally have worked with her. I adore her. I’ve done multiple sessions. I continue to I will I was like, you can’t get rid of me. I just want to work with you forever.

But I want to just say, you know, I personally, really do endorse Kristin. And if you’re looking for somebody for yourself or for somebody else, reach out to her. So I know you’ll love her too.

So, Kristin, please share with all of our guests how they can find you, work with you, read about you, etc.

Kristin: Yeah. So my website is the healingwoods.com and there’s a page for my book on there. The book again is Baptism by Flame Ten Steps to Ignite Your Light Within. So I love what you just said about, you know, igniting light because that’s literally, my whole purpose in life. And of course, I’m on Facebook. I’d love for you to find me there. It’s Kristin Dwan CHt who is a certified hypnotherapist.

And yeah, I just want to talk a little bit about the hypnotic downloads. You can also see those on my front page, my landing page. So it’s not just my voice, it’s also I went into a studio and had binaural music created. So it’s music, my voice and between the two and whenever you’re, you know that I have music in the back of my hypnosis, both of those together, like it’s the music is bringing your, your mind into a state of receptiveness. And then the hypnosis is able to come in even more deeply. So this is going to be a recording for you to use literally every day if you need to because I know that sometimes the world feels a little intense. This is going to bring you back into that beautiful ground and state.

Emily: I love that. And I so Just a selfish question about the background music. Is it the binaural music that I had a feeling of that I did. I listened to it in my earbuds and I’m like, I think this is like my natural beats. And because I listen to vinyl music or like some sort of positive, like certain vibration music when I’m working and it does something to me and I can feel it like I think like the hypnosis is great, but I think there’s also probably something never asked you. So this is my answer. Great. Cool. It’s super special. So you get all that beautiful energy baked right in from binaural beats as well.
